Introducing the Volcano Gene!
In February of 2004 The decree 6765 of the Department of Natural Resources in Puerto Rico Creates the new law that permits the ball python to be legal as a pet.
Halfway through 2005 there’s a person in Florida that stated that they had permission to import ball pythons from Africa. At that time in a convention he met some Puerto Ricans that were interested in importing ball pythons to the island. From that moment on for some time there was a lot of people importing ball pythons that were wild caught into the island and being sold as pets. And that is how a lot of collections started on the island.
Now in 2009 is when my passion started for the ball python. Now my collection started small but little by little going to conventions and events I said acquiring more and more.
During 2016 I had a dear friend that had a ball python one of those that you get in a pet shop. Due to high demand on the food it was getting harder for him to acquire food for her. He knew of my passion for ball pythons therefore he decided to sell it to me. He sends me a picture, and I noticed that she’s kind of grayish but no shine to the snake and the pattern was very particular, Now by this time the people that were in the hobby we knew what a Dinker project was. Now got me excited. When I got her she was at 900 G with more than 4 years. The reason for this was that the person was only feeding her a mouse a week because that is what the pet shop owner had told him. Now it got hard because the Pet Shop went out of business and he had to travel to another town to get the food and because of that he ends up selling the snake to me.

Ash gene description- it’s a co-dominant gene unifies on the back and blurs the alien heads, when it starts as a baby it has a good contrast of colors but as it grows it starts taking a clean ash and a grayish color, therefore the name, Volcano, because when it gets older it becomes like covered in ash
With good feeding she was ready to be bred in the season of 2017. Now with her colors she reminded me of a gene called Ember that turned out to be a compatible Gene with fire and that it’s super form made a leucistic.
In that first pairing I use a male fire clown just to discard that it was a “Ember” and I didn’t produce a completely white snake. The baby’s however all came out very bright and with different patterns that were off what are normal ball python would look like. For reference it looked kind of like a Fire DG. With this clutch I got 1.3 fire Ash het Clown. The Rest out of 9 eggs in the clutch were Normal or Fire.

In the year 2017 we went through the worst hurricane in decades on the island of Puerto Rico and we were 4 months without any of the utilities like power or water. Because of this I had to drastically reduce my production because of Life necessities and priorities. Because of the drastic reduction I had to put the Volcano project and pause for 4 years.
Here is a picture of the female Volaco Fire het Clown. Now in this picture it’s the same snake but four years later so that you can observe the changes in the snake and you can appreciate how it looks now like it’s covered in Ash.
Now in the year 2022 I decide to only use the original Ash female and pair her with a male Leopard Pastel HRA, with this I’m trying to work with with a gene that makes the gray stand out and see how they interact with the Volcano Gene. That was a 11 egg clutch, 6 went bad in the process, and with the remaining five only one came out Ash (1.0 Paste HRA Volcano)
Volcano Enchi Fire Clown
On the 2023 season I bred the original female with a Spotnose Calico Yellowbelly but unfortunately they all came out slugs. Because of this I decided to give her a rest during 2024 and that year I reduced even more the production, I do have a full-time job but the ball pythons are still my passion. That being said, I only produced 15 clutches getting ready for at least 25 clutches for 2025 including using everything I had with the Volcano gene.

Description Volcano:
Volcano Gene, is a grayish gene that clean up and have that look (axanthics type) with vanish weird alien eyes like the Sable gene, the original female when it’s glowing looks like a true Ghost, make dorsal Stripe like Cypress gene.
Description Super VOLCANO
Completes a lot of lines along the back adding several dots along the lines, increases the blur on the alien head eyes, a much darker color and more defined marks. It’s darker than the base Gene, we were able to breed it to a fire and it has a color much similar to sand.
