That’s a terrible situation to be in. A friend’s gecko managed to escape in a car while they were moving houses and it didn’t go well.

I’d say maybe a mechanic would know a better way to deal with the door but I wouldn’t want to move the car…
I wish I had some better options to give you, but setting up a small regulated heat pad on the car seat and wafting a rodent around where they got in to maybe get a food response and get them to come looking is the best I can offer.

Oh geez, how awful! If think that making it less comfortable where you don’t what the snake, (like with the ice) combined with warmth and food scent where you do want the snake is the best course other than a visit and advice from someone who does body work. BPs can actually get wedged, with their body shape, so it’s legitimately alarming. I hope you get him out soon!

edit: had another thought. You might get some bedding from its enclosure, maybe even the snake’s favorite hide and put them where the snake can smell them. Maybe the safe familiar scent will draw them.

Oh man, that’s a tough situation. Do you know any mechanics who do body work? If so, they might be able to give you some help or advice.

But your plan of trying to make the area inside the door less hospitable and drawing him towards the exit with smells of comfort and safety is probably the best bet. Hopefully it can save you from having to totally deconstruct the car door.

Sorry you’re in this situation, I really hope you can safely retrieve your snake.

Holy cow what a predicament he is in! And you too! Contacting an auto mechanic is the best option I believe, as others have suggested. I am thinking if the door is totally removed from the Jeep there may be a way to actually take the door apart by someone who knows what they are doing.

You said you did not want to drive the car but in order to get help you are going to have to. Possibly the motion of driving will jar the little guy into reality. You might want to take someone with you in case he decides to emerge from his hiding place.

I am not sure if you would be better off going to a dealership in lieu of an independent mechanic. Either way I would just show up wherever you decide as soon as the place opens Monday morning because time is not on your side or his either. Who knows, when they find out there’s a snake in the door they will either run or jump on the opportunity to remove him because what a story that would make at the dinner table!

Good luck and keep us updated!:blush:
