Everything has been going great, up until I noticed this new behavior from Kaminari. I noticed it last night, after the light goes out, he climbs to the top of the tallest cave and jumps towards the glass door. I recently switched to a bioactive enclosure and he seemed to be adapting to it well and he was even slightly more active at normal leopard gecko hours, and the humidity levels are where they should be. I do know that our cat has been hanging around the tank more than she should, but it didn’t seem to bother him until recently. And the jumping seems to be when she isn’t around.
He also gets enough food, the jumping doesn’t harm him in any way, the substrate is soft enough that he won’t hurt himself. I am not sure if this is something I should be concerned about or not and what I should do?
He is getting the supplements that he should as well.
I have contacted my vet to see what he thinks and what he recommends

I wouldn’t worry about anything being physically wrong with your gecko, but it does sound like he wants out.
The only time I would see anything similar behavior wise was if they saw my dog’s reflection on the glass. They would follow her back and forth because it was interesting and moving.
Another was when my breeding group of females started laying and I separated out the male. He was insistent on climbing the corners. I’m pretty sure it’s because he still knew breeding females were around and he wanted to find them.
So I guess that can possibly help figure a bit out. Is there something he possibly sees moving or reflected? Even himself. He may be trying to get at the reflection when he gets to the top and then sees it in the door. Or do you possibly have breeding age females nearby he’s aware of? They can pick up pheromones on your hands too if you are handling them before him.
Other than that … There could just be something that he isn’t jiving with in his new enclosure and just wants out. But that seems like the least likely case if he was already starting to get settled down in there.
As a ‘just in case’ have you double checked his temps? That could also be a consideration since they’ll want to move towards the more comfortable places as well.

I do not have any female leos in the household. The cat isn’t around when he does this so I don’t think it’s stress from them, I just want to make sure this is something that I shouldn’t worry about.
