I don’t know how bad off things are on your side of the pond, but in the US BP are a very oversaturated market.
Obviously, my first earnings will still stand. Make sure you have a qualified reptile vet before breeding. That way in case of emergencies like prolapses or eggbinding you know where to go.
You should really be asking yourself what YOU would like to produce. Why waste your time and energy and your animal’s for morphs you aren’t personally fond of?
As a general rule, I try to avoid pairings that produce single gene offspring and definitely avoid breeding normal/classic/wild types. Look for something with multiple genes and an allelic combo or a visual recessive to make sure every offspring gets at least that one gene passed on.
I’m not a breeder or even a BP owner, but to attempt to get things started based on what I have seen the experts say:
I hope someone more useful than me swings by!
First off, heres a really useful breeding guide!

If you are completely new to BPs and this applies, I’d be a lot more focused on perfecting their care before you attempt to breed. Having a good snake specialist veterinarian nearby before problems ever arrive is a must.
I’d start off with baby BPs so you can get used to their care at all life stages and its better to raise them young if you plan to breed them when they reach adulthood. This ensures you know exactly what care they recieved… buying BPs that are subadult/adult is more risky since you really don’t know if they had/have any issues and what their care quality was, both can play a big role in your breeding journey.
You should also take some time to think about why you want to breed them. Idk about the market where you live but in the States the market is unfortunately extremely overwhelmed and it makes BP sales few and far between even for some larger well-known breeders. If you want to breed for your own interests and don’t mind holding on to the offspring for an extended time go for it, but if you want to breed to sell you may have a tough time (again depending on the market where you are from).
Now on to Morphs. As mentioned you really want to aim for something that you personally enjoy, for example I really like Bananas and BELs so thats what my target breeding projects currently are, and get BPs that have the potential for creating multi-gene morph offspring. Single gene offspring most likely won’t sell as well.
Considering your budget you can get some nice quality morphs but you should also focus largely on accomodating housing, for both your BPs and their offspring if you have to keep them for an extended period of time. Have some money saved for any potential vet visits and make sure you can pay for their food. Frozen rodents in bulk can get costly.
Anyway I hope this helps!
