Weekend Changes to the App and Mobile Site…

…have made the site even more unnavigable and unintuitive for me. The floating drop-down menu to access the status types (Hot, New, Unread, etc.) can’t even be viewed in its entirety, so some selections are un-viewable and therefore un-selectable. That has to be fixed even if the functional changes are permanent.

Thanks for listening!

Same. I can’t even access the drop down menu for latest, unread, hot, etc. And having to scroll so much more to read the titles of the latest topics is quite annoying.

Agreed with everything from both posts above. This site is now so confusing! These changes are for the very worst, not for the best! Definitely not user friendly anymore!!!

@eaglereptiles and @brittni-admin tagging you here so you both see this.

I’m glad to see others having the same problems. I am struggling to navigate with the changes.

Gonna throw screenshots from the chat comvo in here as well.
I really hoped it was my phone update being weird…
But it is impossible for me to navigate posts without having to go to my settings…
Which I cannot do without dismissing everything unread on the current page.

I sent Thomas a DM yesterday, but this thread is probably a better idea so everyone can share the issues they’re having beyond just the drop down menu being unusable.

Wow, I’ve been gone a week and come back to this? What happened? Please bring back the way this site used to be.

It looks like a theme component we were using for the default theme has become unsupported. Thank you for the heads up on this. I will get on it straight away.

In the meantime, I am going to force the new “In Development” theme as the default, just to make the forums usable until I have a complete remake of that component.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Everyone else too, I’m sure.

Is there any way to get rid of that awful white/light pink semicircle thing in the background? It legitimately hurts my eyes, makes things so hard to read, and makes any white text layered on top of it totally illegible.

Not a fan of the changes in general, but just getting rid of that weird, huge chunk of white in the middle of a mostly black background would be so helpful. It gives me a headache, I’m not going to be able to be on here much as long as it’s there.

There’s an option in the settings to change the colors. Or you can go to what I’m calling ‘tumblr mode’

I tried messing around with the colour settings, but it didn’t seem to actually change anything. And yes, I hit save. :person_shrugging:

Any chance you could post a screenshot and then what device you’re using and current interface settings? I might be able to help.

Unfortunately, there is no way to share a direct link to the Preferences page…
Click the little user icon (SmartSelect_20210125-194917_Chrome ) and select “preferences” → “interface” → “Color Scheme” → “Dark Mode”.

Select any option other than Same As Regular, which is Light mode.

Keep the feedback on this theme coming!

@eaglereptiles when I logged in today, I had it set to dark, but this is what I saw

had to change it to development to get back to the darkness, ha-ha

Yeah, a component we were using for the old MRC theme and Dark theme went bust.

The MRC theme was based around that component, and it crashed out the whole thing to the point I deleted it entirely yesterday.

The Dark theme (which is now badly named since we have a dark mode toggle… I will rename that to something clearer) still functions fine without the bust component. This is a backup theme, just in case something else breaks with the new one.

MorphMarket [In Development] is the new default theme we have been working on a ton for a long time, and enabled over the past few days. It’s meant to feel like more of a part of the main site.
