Western Hognose Body Language

My juvenile male hognose is exhibiting some weird behaviors. Well weird to me anyway. This is my second one and I’ve never seen it. He is dramatically flicking his tongue. Long slow flicks. Almost looks like his tongue is just hanging out of his mouth. Just the tip it twitching. He is perfectly alert. Not moving aside from his slow tongue flicks. What is he trying to tell me lol.

Slow tongue flicks mean he senses a potential threat and is trying to figure out exactly what it is. In other words, he is scared. Very common with defensive baby snakes, especially hogs. Below is a good video on snake behavior. Skip to around 6:20 for the tongue flick bit.
