What Morph would this guy possibly be?

Do you know pairing info?

It would be a huge help with trait IDing to know lineage.

No lineage. This guy was a PetCo purchase.
I thought he might be something a little different.

Wow! That little critter looks like a higher end morph than one would expect from a big box store! However I’m not schooled in crestie morphs! But that’s a good lookin crestie!

Looks like a capp, but with no lineage he would have to be proven. I wouldn’t consider him super high quality, you could get a nicer one from proven lines for relatively cheap here on MM. Like LW, capp isn’t really a trait that automatically makes a gecko more highend anymore unfortunately :face_with_spiral_eyes:

You don’t think it’s an axanthic?
I did purchase a young Capp Lilly white het axanthic.

Not likely, adult Axanthics are much more grey.

But again that wouldn’t be something that could be proven without lineage.

Yes this is very true!

Do you know how the Axanthic works?
I just wanted to make sure because there are a lot of newer keepers that think het for a recessive gene means that it is visible, which is not the case.
So that’s why the color may seem similar and this one is not axanthic.

Yes i know how it works both parents need the gene.
Het just means that they carry it.
And no I’m not new.
I just never saw a gecko of this whatever morph at a Petco before.

Phew, okay!
Sorry I’m just so used to seeing a good number of people coming in without a good study session.

Either way future lilly or capp axanthics would be a neat project

I wouldn’t think so no, he looks like a very typical capp which is honestly the only reason i feel somewhat confident saying it. Still not 100%, though. Some axanthics do brown out a bit as they get older, but not like this. I feel like after a while of looking at thousands of geckos, you can tell the shades of grey/brown apart, without necessarily being able to explain exactly what it is that makes the difference  That being said, please dont try to prove him out by pairing him with another capp. Super capps are non-viable in the long run, and incredibly unethical to create. Some hatch fine, but start deteriorating after a year or so. The only ones that have survived longer need super specialised care, and their QOL are bordering on not worth it imo, since their bodies cant hold on to muscle-mass and calcium very well. I’ve unfortunately seen some people still producing them in 2026 so im assuming not everyone is aware.

If you can get your hands on a visual LW axanthic that could work, but with how the market is currently, and since you already have a frapp het axanthic from proven lines i assume, i would honestly just work with that one instead of breeding this dude at all
