So “Charlie’s” new home didn’t come today so I put her? in another container to give her some more room and give her some water and food. Poor little thing was thirsty and hungry. She drank some water and devoured a small cricket and then a small meal worm. She grabbed the meal worm immediately! I love watching her!
Its good she ate and drank. All of mine but the two that are in their molt hides ate tonight. I felt really bad that Ive been too busy to go get crickets. Usually feeding day is Sunday. Everyone was doing the happy dance tonight.
Awwwwww! I feel so badly that I waited until today to take her out of her container but at least she is not in there anymore. I can’t believe how fast she grabbed that meal worm! I can’t wait until her home comes. Will she hide under some cork bark or would a small half log be better? I have both.
I would like to see them happy dancing!
Give her lots of substrate and abpiece to crawl under right away. When she settles in a bit, she will rearrange the dirt to her liking anyway. You will probably have to rescue her water bowl several times.
Isn’t it funny how little creatures like these can tug at your heart? Like “boo hoo where are our crickets!”
Ok I will put a piece of bark in right now
Their happy dances are so cute! They shake their booty and everything, it’s too cute for words.
Glad your little one ate and drank and is in more comfortable temporary accommodations. When I got my tarantulas, their enclosures arrived a day later than they did, so they had to make do with what I happened to have around the house for a day, but they were fine.
I love the name Charlie! It will work regardless of if they turn out to be male or female.
I just came home from a reptile show with two new jumpers! Told myself i wasn’t gonna buy anything but here i am with new spiders and my first crestie lol. I got a pair of adult Phidippus regius so now i have three jumpers. It truly is a case of once you get one you will get more. I got pictures of the female but no good pictures of the male lol
That’s wonderful! I now have 4 jumpers myself so I know what you mean! How do you take such good close up pictures of them? I’m old school so this may be a dumb question on my part! Lol! ![]()

. And how adorable I might add!
I have an iphone 13 and for the photos i just put the jumper on the floor and put the phone upside on the floor to take them. This makes it so the camera is on the same level as the spider and it’s easier to take a good up close picture of them.
Lol! Now I really do feel old school!
I am embarrassed to say what model my iPhone is! lol! But thank you for educating me because I thought you had some high powered camera that you were using!
. Ah modern technology! And woe to us that are still in the dark ages! Lol!
. Thank you for sharing your new little cuties! ![]()
Edit: and the little jumper wave is absolutely too adorable! ![]()
She’s barely gotten home and she’s already taken her first meal.
Plus a picture of Jupiter who’s also eating right now
Welcome to the club. ![]()
Congrats on the new additions, they are super cute.
Oh??? my goodness??? I had no idea any jumpers got this large! I think this technically qualifies as a puppy!
Congrats on the new additions!
I know right!! My jumper Jupiter that i got a bit ago is so tiny compared to her and i thought she was kinda big! It’s crazy! Both the male and female have eaten now and the dubias they ate were bigger than Jupiter lol. They are huge and i’m very excited to pair them and get some cute babies ![]()
Where did you get the magnetic feeding cups?
My family gets excited when we find wild jumpers the size of a fingernail which is large for our area, I told her to google to size of the regal jumper and she was so excited
there’s a chance she might overtake my MM account to try and buy one from someone ![]()
