Wow! That’s how you know it will be an exciting clutch, when all the babies are spoken for before they’ve even been conceived!
Oh my! I don’t know BeePs, but this girl is gorgeous. ![]()
Thanks Dean! I wish you could see her in person!!! ![]()
Finally trying my hand again at corn snake keeping, this girl comes from Olivia at Solar Serpents, and I’m really excited to have such a pretty little baby:)
I love these Caramel Tessera Stripes she made. What a beauty!
Not a reptile, but I’ve rather unexpectedly added a new 8-legged friend to my menagerie, just in time for Halloween.
This is Salome! I believe she’s a juvenile brown widow, and she’s totally gorgeous. I found her in the door of a van at work. I’ll work on getting some better pictures, but for now, here’s a couple showing off her pretty booty pattern and her Latrodectus hourglass.
I initially thought she was an unusually coloured black widow, but @caryl pointed out she sounded more like a brown widow, and I think Caryl is correct. I hardly ever see brown widows here.
Very pretty girl! Yes, she looks like a brown widow to me. I always like finding those.
Beautiful baby! Wishing you and your new cutie all best of luck.
Salome the brown widow took her first meal for me! I was worried it was too big, but I should have known she could handle it. Widows are pretty hardcore.
It’s been pretty busy over here the last few weeks so I haven’t been on here much. There were several new additions during that time so I guess I need to get caught up.
This is a 2025 female Louisiana Pine produced by Michael Coone. She’s from a Ginter/Magers x Vernon Parish pairing. She has a cool orange color. With this addition I now have a 1.2 of unrelated lineages.
Sticking with the pines. This pair of FL pines also joined the group. The female is a leucistic and the male is a normal/wild type 66% het leucistic. I’ve been searching for offspring from this line for about two years now. These two are from the exact female that I saw a picture of two years that began my obsession. I included pictures of Mom and Dad for reference.
Lastly some new bull genetics. The first is a female Whiteside Tiger (White Tiger) and a male Blood Red het Tiger 66% pos het hypo, albino, and whiteside.
I’m glad she’s eating for you! That’s a cool setup too!
Gorgeous animals Eric!
. I love love love the one right in front of the hide box! Leucistic I think? But all are amazing! It’s great to see variety around here! ![]()
Thanks Caron! The lucy female is gorgeous. She looks like rose gold silk. She arrived at the end of shed cycle and I didn’t realize she hadn’t shed yet when I unboxed her. The pic in the tub is pre-shed and the pic with the hide in the background is post shed. I was blown away when I saw that morning after her shed.
These pictures don’t do the normal/wild type male justice. He just looks gray and brown in the pics but he has a these really rich caramel tones and good bit of red highlights also. I think his pattern will fade considerably as he matures and he will end up looking a lot like Mom and Dad, with a lot of red and orange tones and the really faded pattern.
They’re both really beautiful animals!
Nice group of new snakes Eric. My favorite is this bull.
Makes me want to go look for some this spring by the kankakee river. If I do get any and you like them I will ship one or more out to you.
Thanks Tom! Like most red bulls this guy isn’t all that impressive at the moment. Over the next 2-3 years he should develop quiet a bit of red and orange coloration. I can see really intense red highlights through out his body so I think he will end being a very color saturated adult. I’ve noticed with my other red/orange bulls that they really blossom in the 8-16 mos range and develop a ton of color during that time.
The “Blood” gene should be interesting to work with as well. It’s from Europe and relatively new here on this side of the pond. It’s believed to be an incomplete dominant trait similar to red factor and some other color enhancing traits in corn snakes. It’s the first inc dom trait observed in Sayi. Animals carrying the blood gene develop a really intense red coloration and have patternless bellies.
I had to revive this thread because I’m really excited about this one. Just got this little one from Oklana Zoological, from their creamsicle project. I’ve been looking for a yellow for AGES and I’m so excited to bring this one in. All pictures credit to Oklana Zoological, I’ll update once it’s in my possession.
The parents:
You my dear have been a busy girl!
What gorgeous parents! You must keep us updated on how your little one grows and develops!!
I will definitely post update pictures as it grows! If it turns female, I plan to find a nice home for Blossom (my red harlequin) after this season and replace her. If it turns male, I think I’ll put him to Pandemonium in the future!
I’m SO darn excited to see how this wee bab grows and what babies they will make later!
