What results could I get from this guy?

Hey there!

I’m a new breeder and have my beautiful boy Otis ready to go.

I want to add something of value to the market so I’m not just breeding him for the sake of it. I’ve been told a LW would get nice contrasts, and if I go for Red Hypo base I could get Lavs?

All very overwhemled by the options and I want good results! All I know I want is a LW, but the other specifics I’m still so unsure of. Help?

I would be no help with breeding. I would just be able to say keeping them dark like this is wonderful enough.
But he is absolutely gorgeous.

The crested gecko community has this weird tendency to focus on one morph as the ideal for a while, only to breed that specific look to the point where the market is completely oversaturated, instead of breeding for morph-diversity. So I generally recommend to breed for something you genuinely like, as opposed to breeding for what the market wants, within reason ofc (dont breed geckos with horrible structure if they have nothing else to offer, don’t breed LWs or harlequins just to breed them etc). But geckos that dark are often a result of line-breeding/selective-breeding, so if you want to keep it super dark, i’d go for another dark one. A phantom LW would be cool to see if you could get some dark phantom LWs, you dont see many of those. Just know that LWs in particular has been bred A LOT, so if you want to breed for LWs make sure to use a nice one, as there’s a lot of mediocre ones out there.
But it’s entirely up to you, breed for morphs that you would want to keep, if it comes down to it.

Like @armiyana said, keeping the dark color would be my choice over anything else.

If this were me I would be looking hard for a lineaged female as dark as you can but wider head with better cresting to improve that line overall. So your babies should come out dark but better quality on average than the parents. Imagine seeing such a dark gecko with a perfect ravioli portioned head and great big crests! I shiver just thinking of it
