Hello! Attached are photos of the bugs. I just noticed them today (they were not here yesterday). They were in my crested geckos water bowl. Her enclosure is bioactive but only with pill bugs, which these don’t look like. They are definitely some sort of bug larvae. They are a yellowish color with an oval shape. They looked almost like they were skipping around the water but mostly stayed in the big pile. I took it out and washed the bowl, I just want to be sure that no further action is needed.

At a glance, they look like springtails.
Skipping across the surface of the water and keeping to a big group definitely sounds like springtail behavior.
A lot of isopod keepers cohab isopods with them to eat the mold in the enclosures. So probably just came along for the ride.

Her tank has been bioactive for about a year, and I haven’t added any new pill bugs since. They’ve been breeding on their own. There are a few pieces of driftwood but I cleaned and heat treated them prior to adding them to the tank, aside from that I haven’t added anything new. It still could be springtails?

Definitely look like springtails.
They can be brought in through plants, isopod colonies or the substrate itself. I find when Springtail colonies get large enough they seek out open sources of water- that’s probably what’s happening with your situation. They are completely harmless.

Alright, interesting. Thanks. I didn’t know if they were because I hadn’t introduced new plants or substrate into her tank for months.

They may have just resided in the substrate this whole time, they are so tiny that they aren’t really noticeable until they form those large groups in standing water. It’s actually how I create new colonies- I just wait until they do that water grouping and then scoop them up since they float
