Hi it is stormy outside and i need to know what to do when your gecko mat/light goes out
Warm up water if you have a gas stove and fill water bottles with it. Place them in the tank and cover it up with a blanket. Check it periodically to make sure the water is still warm.
Years ago, when in college, ice storm knocked out power and I had to scramble. 2 redtail boas were the easiest. Put them in pillow cases, and slept with them to keep them warm. They didn’t seem to stress at all. I warmed water on a gas heater to keep tropical fish alive, but eventually had to take them to a friend’s house. Was crazy trying to keep a tank warm for several days, with no power. Same thing with our bird, took it someone else’s house till power returned.
Jackery makes great battery power backups that would buy you some time. Different sizes, several cheaper and more expensive than this one: https://www.amazon.com/Jackery-Portable-Explorer-Generator-Optional/dp/B082TMBYR6/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3JK1SC711SVFR&keywords=jackery+portable+power+station&qid=1669863395&sprefix=jackery%2Caps%2C106&sr=8-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.ac2169a1-b668-44b9-8bd0-5ec63b24bcb5
Battery backup, you can use it on and off to make it last longer. And take it to a place with power to recharge it.
If not to cold out, you can use your vehicle heat and place them in the car. Possibly even heat some water or damp towels. This will take much pnger and be a pain to do, but it would be better then nothing.
Get a small generator, then you can also have some power for yourself.
