What's wrong with this retic's eye?

It’s really bulged out compared to his other one.

You should take your retic to the veterinarian. It might have an eye infection behind the eye. Will need meds to clear it up. I have used this med for some of my baby boas when they are born with bulging eyes.

As Tom noted, you should get the animal to a vet. There is a build up of fluid behind the spectacle and it can lead to blindness or a rupture.

If this is something that occurred with a previously normal looking eye there could be an infection as Tom mentioned. It could also be a blocked duct causing fluid buildup.

If the animal was born this way and the above mentioned issues were ruled out with a vet, then it’s most likely lazy eye. This can have different reasons for happening. The animal may be blind in that eye or the muscles may not have developed properly. In humans this can sometimes be treated. I don’t believe you can in animals, although I have seen a few fish keepers try with varying success. :grimacing:

This snake definitely looks more like a fluid issue. Here’s another retic with lazy eye as an example

Thanks for the info! This isn’t actually my retic (unfortunately) but I will pass along the recommendations.
