As long as they are the correct size, you can switch anytime. Just keep it around the same size as their thickest part.

I switch mine over to rats as soon as possible if they refuse to start on them.
If eyeballing the largest part of your noodle is a bit tough, something around 15-20 grams should be a great feeder size to start trying.
You may need some dirty mouse bedding to scent the rats if they’re not used to them. BPs can be picky sometimes
