Whoops! Guess I've started my 2026 season

Surprise! Last year’s dad, I’m assuming?

Yep, hasn’t been paired since March 11th, 2025.

That dad surely packed a powerful punch! :boxing_glove:!!

Got a whole incubator set up for a grand total of one egg right now. :joy:

Hah! Very pampered egg.

Aw. A little 1:1 attention would definitely help any egg to thrive

That egg will be very precious to you.

I’m not liking the way the egg is looking at the moment. Living by, “incubate until there’s no debate” but there’s hardly any development and what is there looks very odd. I do suspect Ms. Pineapple is going to lay as well at this point, we shall see. I’ll have to check in on Sylvestris again as well.

I know you’ll stick with the plan, incubate 'til there’s no debate. Maybe it’s not going to develop, but heck, some really awful looking eggs make it. I know you know that, just saying.

Seems like if your other girls play the same game, at least one of them will give you a good egg or three.

Never a dull moment in the snake breeding season (even unintended ones!). Looking forward to seeing whatever comes…

No babies yet from Itt, however we are only at day 88. I figured I might as well give some info on my hognose pairings for this year, since I haven’t done that yet. Honestly I don’t know how they’ll go since I don’t brumate anyone and I’m just sort of guessing. Corn snakes are easy, hoggies so far seem to require a bit more observation, and in my case, luck. No witnessed locks, but lots of action.

Pair one is Eevee, 66% pos het axanthic & toffee belly, with Wilbur, who is purple line het lavender, pos PPA. Not expecting anything visual from those two, just some nice normals and it’s more of a trial breeding to see if Eevee is receptive. I have a more genetically appropriate male for her, but he’s still under 50g and she’s over 350, so I wasn’t wanting to risk him becoming an expensive snack.

My second pairing has a bit more promise. Togepi is an RBE pastel conda, 66% pos het toffee belly, low pos het axanthic & albino. She’s paired with my newest boy, Swinub, who is triple het albino, axanthic, toffee belly. If he, at all of 43g, manages to get the job done, possibilities are normals, condas, and then seeing if any of Togepi’s pos hets prove out.

Fun! I didn’t remember you having hognoses. My son will be jealous. I drew the line at cornsnakes…but maybe some day I’ll change my mind.

I hope they get the job done! I only have one, a male, and he’s fasting and cruising non-stop. And he wasn’t brumated.

Hognoses were always on my wishlist, I got Eevee as my first in the spring of '22 off of Craigslist. I currently have a total of six, split 2.4. I had planned to breed her ages ago, but after spending a pretty penny on a male, I lost him several months after purchase at only 11 months old to kidney cancer, before he ever bred. Bad luck, and I didn’t have it in the budget for a new male for a long time. I wouldn’t have Wilbur if it weren’t for @solarserpents, and Swinub was my first ever MM auction win last March. They’re lovely a lovely species when they behave.

I’ve got my fingers crossed. It’s always possible I just missed seeing locks. Both males have been incredibly enthusiastic about their ladies, and at least one of the girls has been twitching and tail wagging.

Here’s hoping that you’ll be blessed with baby hoggies from both of those hopeful pairs!
