Hello all, was helping my girl shed her skin when i noticed what seemed to be two large lumps on either side of her tummy. i’ve got some photos to share, though they’re not very good. Please let me know if she seems gravid or if I’m crazy. I can only post one photo at a time if more are necessary please feel free to reach out! Thank you
Have you paired her with a male? Also they eat their skin which is full of nutrients beneficial to them so I would let her complete her shed with no assistance on her own time.
Usually 2 eggs are visible as white orbs one on either side of the belly. This picture does not present her at an ideal angle. If you can provide another photo showing her belly but without her bent a bit backward and with her back feet off the counter that would help
She’s been in the same tank as a male so it is possible they mated which is why I’m taking that as a possibility rn. Also she’s needed assistance since I got her, as she was poorly bred with majority missing nails. if left unattended it will cause damage that I’m not willing to allow. I’ll grab a better photo for sure.
This is actually what leftover shed will do. I have a girl with missing toes because she had such bad shed and a vitamin deficiency when I got her as a rescue.
That or from aggression or being mistaken for food with mealtimes.
Though I do agree there are many leopard geckos being poorly bred.
How long have you had this gal?
You say she was poorly bred and you left her with a male…? Of course they would breed.
She has an egg on the right and possibly a slug or undeveloped ova on the right.
Make sure she’s receiving proper vitamin and calcium with her meals and offer her a lay box with some cocofiber or sphagnum moss. She may eggbind if she’s stressed and can’t find a good place.
