I’ve been meaning to updates pics for my yearlings. I’ve gotten a few done. Let’s start with the ones from Allstar (RF Strawberry Granite het Amel) & Aria (Snow Cube 50% ph Caramel, Hypo). Allstar was produced by VMS. Aria came from several generations of BrightHope animals. I kept 2.2 from this pairing. The Aneries are het Amel, Diffused, Strawberry, Stripe, ph Caramel. Legacy is the male, and he’s got a rosy, bronzy, metallic appearance in person. Carmen has become a dark Anery with nice, distinct borders. Of course their colors will keep developing. Exactly how remains to be seen.
Legacy:
The Snows from Allstar x Aria’s clutch have all turned out to be Red Factor. They’ve also turned out to have Halo, too, making them RF/Coral Halo Snow het Diffused, Strawberry, Stripe, ph Caramel. Rossini is very colorful, and he’s a bit shy. He doesn’t like to hold still for pics.
Heart’s Delight has become a real beauty. I didn’t think she was RF, but when she shed last November, she suddenly looked like she’d been dusted with pink magic. She’s kept that look, intensified it, added Halo coloring and more pronounced frosting in her saddles. Oh, and an adorable yellow nose!
This bewitching beauty is Radish, produced by Olivia Barron, Solar Serpents. She’s my first Cinder. Not sure why it took me so long to get a Cinder as I’ve always admired their subtle coloring. Radish is het Sunkissed, 50% ph Amel, Lava. I love her smudgy nose. Looks like she’s been trying to harvest radishes, perhaps?
One more yearling for today. This girl was produced by Big Squeeze Constrictors (Zach & Hayley Clapperton). Her hatch day is 12/30/22, close enough that I count her with my 2023s. Nimue’s morph has a few AKAs. Hypo Moonstone Stripe or Lavender Ghost Stripe are probably the most common . She fits into several projects here.
Totally agree! I love that Radish has all those stony greys along with the deep, reddish saddles. I don’t know if she’ll keep the colors but I hope so.
Aw I remember when Legacy popped out, he’s become such a handsome fella! I absolutely hope to get a yearling from you once I’m ready for my first snake
Thanks, @cmills. Legacy has surprised me with his coloring. I thought he would be more typical RF Anery. He’s a sweet boy and a keeper no matter what he looks like. He got a great combination of genes. It’s a bonus that he’s handsome.
And one day, you’ll be ready for a snake. Meanwhile, you keep us all amazed with your artwork and your progress in grad school. You’re incredible on both counts!
Managed to get pics of five more before I got busy feeding. This is Albion, Strawberry Halo Snow Tessera ph Motley, Sunrise. He was produced by Mt. Pleasant Herps. He’s developing into a super colorful animal like his sire. He’s fulfilling my hopes that way, for sure. He’s finally there. Albion seems to really enjoy the outdoors.
Here’s another handsome boy. This is Haldir, from Neil Smith at SnakeSmithS. He’s a Red Factor Halo Snow. He is freshly shed and his colors are just gorgeous! Some pics were in different light, but they aren’t edited. His colors are just insane. My hand is in a couple for reference. Haldir has a fantastic disposition as well. Couldn’t be happier with this boy!
Excalibur is another who’s a challenge to photograph. He’s a Hypoberry Lavender Stripe het Anery, Caramel, 50% ph Amel produced by Chris Nicholas. His lavender coloring along his stripes is showing more now than when I got him.
Last two for today, a pair of siblings produced here. They’re less visually dramatic than the last three but they have loads of genetic potential. They will hopefully contribute to several projects in years to come. They’re also just lovable. These two were sired by Galahad (Moonstone het Amel, Diffused, Strawberry, Stripe) who came from VMS. Their dam is Dazzler (Amel Cube Stripe het Anery), my very first BrightHope hatchling from my original Kathy Love snakes. Dazzler is a retired grand lady these days.
This is Flair, a pretty Classic. She’s always had lots of red on her belly, very colorful in general. Not entirely sure what that’s about, but she’s pretty. I love the last picture of her in the sunlight.
And Fortunato, Anery Cube. I really hoped to get this morph from the pairing, and I must say he’s even prettier than I’d hoped. He has nice markings and some lovely pastel tints, too. He prefers exploring to posing. I have lots of pictures of him leaving.
