Can not wait!!
I can’t wait either!
That is a gorgeous setup!
That looks amazing! I would like to get my enclosures in white but am worried they would be susceptible to stains or streaks. I am a neat freak and perfectionist. I can’t have that.
Whaaaaa? This is epic to the 10th power.
My first waterfall bioactive enclosure! Now just need to find a male Red eye crocodile skink, if anyone knows someone who has a good selection?
Crocodile skinks are super awesome! I set up a larger tank for them but I decided I wouldn’t use it since the cost of a skink is usually >$200 and I would rather spend the money on better housing for my current animals.
Yea I’m really enjoying this enclosure especially when I was about to buy one at repticon but I value this one since I put detail and effort in it. And yea, I have a female that’s in there but hopefully I can find a male . I still need to fill in some spaces but so far it’s doin great.
Do you have a picture of her? They are a species I would really love to breed someday. What size enclosure is it?
She’s in a 20 gallon in that picture and she was hidden under hide. She already start moving things around already an is more active than ever in here now as well.
She’s super cute! I think they look like mini dragons, lol. A main reason why I like them is their unique colors and texture, but I think their behaviors of being able to swim is very neat.
Ive been looking into crocodile skinks they are unbelievably adorable
Agreed! They’re such a cool species. I’d love to have one some day, maybe once CBB individuals are more readily available (and perhaps a little less price). One of the few kinds of lizards that really “speaks” to me these days.
Thank you, I really want to see if I can add another species in their as well if possible. But yea truly to find a male for not too high of a price
They get scared easy maybe some frogs that stay small or just small lizards since you have bioactive you could go with arboreal species since crock skinks are terrestrial. ( i hope im not overstepping here im sure you probably know) Eventually ill switch from regular enclosures to bioactive ones but that may be a couple years out.
Oh nah your all good. Look I’m learning just as you are, I’m just curious because your right with them being terrestrial, I’m curious what could go in as well cause my birthday is on June 9 so I’m trying to think of what 1 other specie could I add. Don’t apologize for your knowledge.
The only thing is that people always say their hard to keep but I have had this one since last December and it’s been doing but my cousin who has a degree in this, had one and it died in the first month due to his enclosure setup I believe. As long you do your research an ask questions I feel you can do it as well.
Yes they are a fragile species in some regards. They require temperature and humidity which if off is very detrimental.
Dart frogs work well with them crested geckos too. Id definitely still monitor them for stress with the introduction of a new tank mate.
Basically i would add similarly sized tank mates that do well in the high humidity and heat i think even tree frogs could go plus they are cute. As they get scared easily i wouldn’t add any species that they would see as a predator ( something larger than them) croc skinks are such cute lizards that look like baby dragons.
As you went full biome the frogs would love the pool if you have a waterfall that would be good to plus keeping that humidity up.
I have many desert species animals and my house gets humid enough that i can’t really get rainforest species because that would add too much humidity and my animals need that heat and low humidity.
Id love to see more photos of them from you, not sure if you know they don’t do well being handled. I hope this helps you some.
I love this site because i believe we all love animals and want to help each other give them the best.
