Thank you thank you! I am so excited that my buddy is here!
Yay! Handsome dude. Congrats! ![]()
Thank you! I am so in love already!
I’m obsessed with this little ding dong already. He ate breakfast (gotta love that not even shipping can stop a pac man feeding response), and has settled down to stare at me while I get ready for my day
Well who wouldn’t be Claire! I’m so glad you are enjoying BB! ![]()
He’s so stinking cute! A species I keep thinking about getting but never pull the trigger lol. Glad to see he’s settling in well for you!
His head is empty, no thoughts at all, and I love that in a goofy looking animal - so far so good!
Aww yay, congrats, I’m so happy for you!! Big Beef is adorable! Glad you caught the bacterial swamp issue before he arrived.
Me too! It’s honestly SO much better that this tiny man has a week or two getting meals in a smaller more compact environment while I get the big enclosure under control, so it was meant to be
What are you feeding him?
I am trying to keep things varied but simple, especially when he is tiny.
So some meals he will be having gut loaded and dusted worms (red wigglers are small enough to be fed whole right now, or I can cut up earthworms/nightcrawlers), and some meals he is having pre-formed pac-man pellets (which are the pac man version of reptilinks I guess, though large pac mans can also probably have normal reptilinks)
As he grows he will get treats every now and then, but those two options will be his staples.
Sounds like he’s gonna feast like a king BB! ![]()

That’s my goal! This tiny baby gets SPOILED (within actual healthy reason of course)
Ah and spoiled he should be! ![]()

He is so freakin’ cute – I mean yes, very stately, certainly kingly. Certainly it’s not hilarious and adorable to be 45% face by volume or anything
How’s de-swamping the original bin going?
That’s funny! ![]()
Certainly not endearing to have one braincell and no body only mouth, no no never
The original bin is nearly ready again! I removed over half of the original substrate (the wettest and slightly smelly stuff), siphoned and sponged out as much water as possible, let it dry, and added coco coir, coco chunks, leaf litter, and dry sphagnum moss back into the bin with lots of stirring and fluffing
The texture of the soil is excellent, the humidity is holding, and I think the bin is even better than before!
BB’s gonna luv it! ![]()

Hopefully! I plan to add him tomorrow since that will be multiple days of settling and good readings and soil texture/humidity!
