Congratulations to Crunchberry and you too Dean! I know you will fatten her up post haste! I got that term from Frazier! ![]()
Hahaha. Thanks Caron! ![]()
Let’s go Mrs Crunchberry! Awesome looking bunch of eggs! ![]()
Funny how even though she just dropped so much weight, her body shape still makes her look so chunky!
I just got her out to feed her and she looked great! Like nothing happened. ![]()
That’s a great looking clutch! Congratulations!
Thanks Caryl. ![]()
20??? Didn’t she only manage 11 last year? I was thinking these bantams would finally give us corn breeders smaller clutches. Apparently Crunchberry insists on being like her full-size Mama.
She laid 16 last season, so not a crazy additional amount. And 14 and 11 for the other two Bantams who laid last season. I’d much prefer fewer eggs and larger, but oh well. Prepare for more runts!
The non-Bantam first-timer I used for my outcross clutch this season laid 18 eggs, but they’re quite a bit bigger. It’s probably best to use a non-Bantam female in an outcross clutch if possible for this reason. ![]()
I didn’t breed her daughter Dulcie this season or prep her, but she looks and feels gravid. And she refused a mouse today which she’s only ever done when gravid. Sperm retention or slugs. My money’s on the latter unfortunately.
I have silver and gold!!! Just ask BC! ![]()

I’m hoping hoping for a HUGE CLUTCH with healthy eggies! ![]()

Hah! I’m hoping for a small clutch of big, long, easily passed, healthy eggs.
Ok then me too! ![]()

Grandma is looking so lovely, how old is she now? And Dulcie is definitely looking thick in a not-Bantam way, if she does lay for you this year here’s hoping it’s not too big of a clutch and passes them smoothly. You’re gonna be up to your neck in baby Bantams! ![]()
I should still have fewer homo Bantams than last season, I think. Sunny is almost 5. Already retired. Probably. ![]()
Sunny has a nice retirement ahead of her. Good luck on those easy, large, few eggs for all the future clutches. And no slugs! Such a bummer when the mamas do all that work for nothing…
Oh my she’s almost caught up with the Ched Man. ![]()
He was first in their clutch to hatch, and she was last. ![]()
I’m guessing he was the first intentional Bantam from a Bantam x Bantam pairing hatched anywhere.
