I hear ya. It’s not the money in this case, more so I was planning on focusing energy and other resources (mainly space) to other projects. I am waiting to hear some news on eggs for some LA and FL pines I’ve been after. Those were going to be my next two acquisitions.
Also, I really feel like I need to have a successful breeding out of the two boas I have currently before I dive any deeper into the boas. Prove I can do it first.
Just having a hard time saying no to this because she’s a stunner and the price is more than right.
She is very pretty. I’m far from sponsor material when it comes to buying boas so I should leave it at that
If you’re going to keep a very small group focused around PP you may be better off starting with animals that are not related. “Outcross” within the PP line right off the bat. It’s a fairly popular line popping out quality every year. Maybe not as cheap, but factor in not needing a male and maybe it evens out? Buy a 24-25 female and by the time your current pair breeds, pending success and a quality male, the timing would be pretty good down the line.
Slept on it and I’m going to pass. I’m not against pairing siblings but would prefer unrelated blood like you said. I want to see how things go with Rocket and Babs, keep a holdback or two (or five ) and then add unrelated blood from there. That was my original plan and I’m sticking to it. If Rocket is carrying VPI my chances of getting an animal with the same genetics as his sister should be pretty good.
I really wish there was a way to determine if Rocket is carrying anery 1 besides proving it out. Alas we are stuck with ball pythons hogging all the RGI resources. I really want to chase IMG VPI Snowglows but I am expecting disappointment.
Sunset - '22 Pastel Jungle girl looking gorgeous. I put her back on corrugated paper and she stopped rubbing her nose for now. Hopefully that heals up well
