I have a breeding question since I’m seeing something similar. In that sterling ovulation picture I see the swelling but the males still working. I have the same thing going on with my VPI pairing that I noticed this morning. I thought for sure she was ovulating, but then the male is really locking up and working all day today so I’m assuming she hasn’t actually ovulated yet?
This pair belongs to my veterinarian friend. I gave him these two boas when they were babies. The male is het albino.
He told me he would be giving me most if not all the babies.
Keep the male in, sometimes they ovulate sides at different times back to back so even though she swelled he knows shesnot done yet for one reason or another. Either remove him when he stops breeding or after her ovulation shed.
First new snake(s) day of 2025! Woohoo! These two are from KL Constrictors.
1.0 Orangasm Labyrinth 66% het VPI pos het Anery T1. He has really nice pink wash over him that I hope intensifies as he ages. I’m calling him “Ovi” for the figure “8” marking on his tail. Hockey fans will get it.
0.1 VPI Albino het Anery T1 66% het Leopard. This girl is a smoke show! That sigma/leopard influence with the VPI is a killer look IMO. She is like IMG light with all the dark speckling and her saddles have some really nice color in them. No name yet.
@tommccarthy I love how clean and crisp labyrinth looks. Glad to finally have it in my collection. I have a super saturated female Hypo Laby PP het VPI coming once the weather on Long Island warms up a bit. I think this fella will color up nicely as he matures.
I really dig the look of the female VPI also but almost for the exact opposite reason. She’s really messy looking and dark for a VPI IMO. The markings on her side look purple.
I’ll need to get them both outside soon for some natural light pictures.
The lighting still isn’t great but I got a couple more pictures without the afternoon sun from the window distorting everything.
