Oh what is your first language?
I’m from Poland
so polish ![]()
Oh that is awesome! I am German and Polish
Nice! What is your Polish background?
Name him Riddick from the movie Pitch Black.
You should be able to take him out more now. In my many years of owning boas, most only take a few days to a week to acclimate to their new surroundings. Mean ones take a little more work.
Here is one of my darker motley jungles het albino.
@tommccarthy Beautiful snake, it reminds me of salt and pepper! Very interesting. Do you have any later pictures of him?
He’s not aggressive at all, but he’s only been with us for 3 days. I still had to take him out a few times, for example this morning when I noticed he had spilled all the water onto his paper towels during the night. I don’t know what he was trying to do—our Zarina never pulled stunts like that, and she was already quite strong when we got her.
Now I know I’ll need to give him 10–15g mice soon. How many of those do you think he’ll eat before I’ll need to get him something bigger?
For my newborn baby boas, I start with fuzzy mice for the first 2 or 3 feeding. Then, move them to hopper mice for a few feeding, then move them to small mice.
I don’t go by weight on my food items. I go by size. I go just a little bigger than the mid-size of the baby boa.
This guy is also 25% Northern Brazilian BCC.
Here is the day after he was born.
This is from July 17 2025

It was two like this, twins!
I can’t rely on that because I have a poor sense of sizes by eye, and in stores everything is labeled in grams. I just can’t imagine how many grams would roughly match the snake’s circumference. It’s probably obvious to you from experience.
The breeder has told me what to feed him for the near future, and I trust that, but now I’m trying to figure out how many pieces I should order before moving on to something bigger.
This little snake completely ignores its hide—maybe it’s still too small to understand what it’s for haha.
I love these photos of little guy and dad!
Thanks I thought they turned out cool. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets as colorful as dad.
Matt, I think spoonman is going to look better than dad. Their head stamp is almost identical.
The VPI is looking very nice. The two I got from you just shed to and look fantastic.
Glad to hear it Tom! I think they are both going to be great looking adults. That f3 girl was very different looking, it’ll be cool to see how she develops as the color fills in. Seems like this second shed cycle took a while, not sure if it’s because i feed during it or what.
Been waiting a few weeks for these to arrive but finally picked up a box from Peter Primo this morning with some killer VPI blood stock. The raptor is drop dead gorgeous with a killer head stamp. Color, pattern, and contrast are all exceptional.
I need to get all of them outside to get some pics under better lighting. Until then, here are some pics under the terrible lighting in my QT room.
2024 0.1 VPI Raptor het Blood
2025 1.0 Blood 66% het VPI. He’s from Berry Blood and old school European PP stock.
2025 0.1 Hypo Labyrinth 66% het blood and vpi. She has killer color so I’m pretty confident she will prove het blood. She is very smol ![]()
Daaang I can’t wait to see some outdoor pictures once they settle in. Great pickups! That labby ![]()
Thanks Matt! Really excited to add these to my collection. Definitely gonna have to break out the “fancy” camera for these three next weekend.
Eric, I like the contrast in the VPI Raptor het blood. Love the pattern and color on the Hypo Labyrinth 66% het blood. I am looking forward to seeing the outdoor pictures.
Adon78 like the pattern on your motley het snow. Nice side striping and laddertail. Reminds me of a few of the motleys I produce this year. Love the look and striped tail on your moonglow motley.
