Alibritton is going to grow into quite the stunner, thanks. I have been pretty strictly sticking to what I need for the next 3 years’ plans. Apart from sire, I have his 2024 Super RF Strawberry Halo Avalanche brother ands sister along with a 2024 likely Super RF Strawberry Fire and likely Super RF Strawberry Bloodred females. I’m keeping a 2026 Super RF Strawberry Fire male,(Sumner) and a Super RF Strawberry Granite female (Mara). There’s still the second clutch of 11 to consider from these wonderful parents, too.
Oh yeah. The teensy weensy only visible when looking for it tip of the tail kink has zero effect on health. The other baby’s little kink is actually less noticeable than it was when he hatched. They should both have normal, happy lives. Correction: they’ll have healthy, exceptionally happy lives with @caron.
I dunno. I looked back at the temps. It did get up to 85 a couple of days when they were incubating. It did make me nervous but
kinda slipped my mind because it was early in incubation. Lavenders are regarded as more sensitive to temps. Maybe that contributed here. No way to know, so err on the side of safety.
Allstar and Annelie’s second clutch is pipping at last! I realize Day 65 is pretty normal, I’ve just been impatient! At dawn there were three sweet noses. Now at nearly sunset there are four. Clearly they are still in no real hurry to satisfy my curiosity about who is in those eggs! All will be visually at least RF/Super RF Strawberry Diffused Het Anery, 66% ph Amel, pos Halo. Not gonna worry about hets while tallying. Here is who I see so far.
Kinda looking especially forward to seeing that kinda Jack-o-lantern egg pipped. It’s been smiling at me long enough (not to say smirking!). Time to smile back!
I’ll take Christmas and snow any time! Really hoping this batch includes some. The parents had 14 eggs in the first clutch, 11 in this clutch. If odds were rules, there would 1/8 Avalanches. That’s 3. So far? Zero. Gonna have to step it up to make that happen!
Edit: I am headache. I not mathing tonight. Parents had 16 eggs in the first clutch, plus 11 in the second. Still only comes to a shade over 3 Avalanches if odds were rules. But I needed to correct the record on how many beautiful babies were in the first clutch.
So, I accidentally got into a bunch of fire ants v this morning. Haven’t been gotten so badly in years. Dozens of bites, so I’m feeling it systemically and not just where I was bitten. Had to take a bunch of benadryl but it’s knocking down the hives. I’m wiped out.
I took a nap with one egg left to pip, and no Avalanches. When I woke up, there was a rosy pink Avalanches nose in view! Only one this year out of 27 eggs.
They’re mostly emerging this evening but I won’t set them up until tomorrow. I think the count is:

Here’s a huge congratulations for the sweet little bait pile! Such lovely colorful squirmy wormies! The Avalanche certainly kept you waiting long enough! That little one is a masterpiece!

Thanks for the congrats and good wishes. Still haven’t gotten over the evil ant nonsense but most of the hives are gone, including all in the throat so that’s a big win.
I did get everybody sorted, weighed and photographed though I haven’t properly gotten them listed. Final tally:
2.1 RF/Super RF Fires. I’m not going say for certain about Super RF on the Fires until they shed but they look highly suspiciously red.
2.1 RF/Super RF Strawberry Bloodreds. One male and the female I can call as Super now. The other male also seems quite possibly Super, tbh.
0.4 RF/Super RF Strawberry Granites. 2 Supers, 2 probably just one copy.
1.0 RF/Super RF Strawberry Avalanche. Can’t really tell about Super but his pink dots are very pink for an Avalanche. He’s staying here, regardless.
The only one I’ve named so far is the Avalanche. There’s a variety of strawberry with bright pink flowers and pink berries called Flamingo. I debated, but I can’t pass that one up. And wouldn’t you know it, out of 43 offspring which these sweet parents have produced, Flamingo is the first one to ever make really spicy at first? Lol. He did calm down, but he sure was doing the thang.
