More happenings are happening! At morning check, I found that Linette has four eggs and more to come. The coloring in this is kinda terrible, but it still looks good to me!
They look good!
They do. The ones she has laid so far are on large side. Of course that’s fairly usual with first clutches. I’m itching to check on her again, but she’s one who likes her privacy so I’m waiting.
I predict another couple dozen give or take!
Lol I’m thinking maybe 10. Should know soon!
Linette has finished laying and she done very well. Lucky thirteen perfect eggs! She got the job done, for which I am thankful. She then deigned to accept a drink of water. All is well.
Nice clump!
A true Bakers Dozen! You should name the babies after breads and or pastries!
Lol that’s maybe a thought, at least for some. Any Peaches will get peach cultivar names. Visual Lavenders have gotten Arthurian themed names. Things get complicated when the themes collide. Maybe pastries are the answer!
Edit to add: Pastries are the answer. Never mind the question!
Amen sister! I had my jelly donut this afternoon!!!
Linette looks good today. She took a fuzzy, too. That made me extra happy since she’d been off food during her later … gravidity? Gravidness? It’s not pregnancy. Whatever the correct term is, I am happy she ate!
I think Jubilee will lay tonight or tomorrow. She’s cleared the space at one end of her nest box and is staying there.
How about “Motherhood”? . After all Mother’s Day is coming up!
That is just so cool! She’s “nesting” in her nest! I love it!
Lol fair enough.
She is indeed. This is one of those clutches I’ve been looking forward to and hoping for even before I found Jubilee and Peredur as hatchlings. She’s got a ton of possible hets. His are unknown, so maybe we’ll see about some of those. At the least, if there are eventually babies, there should be some real beauties.
So this is the one I need to watch? No wait! I need to watch ALL of them!
Well… depends on what you might want. But yeah, just watch all of them!
My feline buddy Mochi kept lying in the floor beside Jubilee’s bin this evening. That’s not at all where Mochi usually spends her post-prandial hours. After she meowed at me, I decided I’d better check. I checked Jubilee, and wow! All seems to be progressing well, and quickly. She’s got 16 eggs and looks like she’s got a fair few yet to lay. This is only Day 33 post-lock. Please excuse the awful lighting.
The egg laying is moving quite quickly at your house! Good thing Mochi is keeping watch! Congratulations Caryl!
