Aspen the maybe-keeper is getting big. He actually has some technically nicer sibs, but there’s something about this guy. Tessera Bloodred het Whiteout and Pewter.

He’s handsome! Decent diffusion. Nice color. Regardless, I’ve found that trusting my instincts generally pays off. If there’s something about him to your eye, I say keep him. Not that I have any say, but just saying.

Yeah, his color reminds of the extinct Rosy Bloods. Which I loved. His brother Beech is redder and better diffused, but isn’t that same color.

I see the differences. And I can see the Rosy Blood look to Aspen. Is he the one who was “different” when they hatched? I remember that one of this clutch was noticeably so but not which one.

The pics don’t show it well, but his color reminds me a bit of the SMR Rosy (Kastanie) Bloods I had long ago. Even more than his dad. The dad does have some Keys ancestry.
