So how’re things this weekend?
Boring. Eggs just sitting there being eggs. No more “dewdrops,” but no pipping either. There isn’t any issue like discoloration or odor to indicate a problem, but there’s certainly nothing happening.
Stubborn little ones!
So it would seem.
Day 72, any changes?
Kinda. The leaky egg has a new leak. A “dewdrop” has appeared in a new place. I’m hoping that this is due to the egg’s occupant wriggling about, getting ready to pip. The b other egg still looks pretty much the same. Both are looking less white. That usually occurs in the final days.
So I don’t know. I was busy with babies today and trying to ignore these two. Maybe that’s the ticket.
I can’t wait to see them!
Hey, something new is still something! Hopefully they’re just taking their time, chill babies.
Oh man, neither can I!
I’m encouraged by the new dew. I would rather see a baby, but I’m taking that as an indication that things are still progressing inside the egg. I’m getting a bit concerned.
Gotta keep reminding yourself some just take a little longer. Very hopeful that they’ll make an appearance quickly, stop the worrying.
I am trying, lol. The room I incubate in has been running around 80-82°F. Earlier clutches have hatched a bit earlier, but they also incubated at 82-85°F. I assume that’s the difference. I hope.
We’re getting into fall, so it’s no surprise if you’re at room temp that they’re taking a bit longer to finish getting ready to meet the world. They’re not even really “late” yet at lower temps like that, so you should be fine and seeing those snoots.
Yeah, I know they’re not actually late. But I’m IMPATIENT.
It’s the worst feeling in the world because there’s literally NOTHING you can do.
That’s EXACTLY right!!
Sigh. Still eggs. Still that new drop, too.
Gosh the babies are stubborn
. Its hard work to be beautiful
Lol you’re so right.
This morning’s “dewdrop” has been joined by others tonight. I keep hoping something means something. Maybe this actually does?
The best things come to those who wait, or so ive heard.
