Hands down, no contest, Blood Pythons.
Perfect size, with a body shape unlike any other, enclosure and care requirements are simple, and they’re so intelligent. It’s so satisfying building a relationship with these animals, and watching them watch you and seeing the wheels in their head spinning. You can line breed for the best looking normals, or you can go for morphs, or both! Oh yeah, they are some of the best looking animals out there that only get better with age. Did I mention you only clean crap like, twice a year? They do like to pee though 
The only negatives I can see are that they can be a little cryptic, and are a bit tricky to handle. I know the meme is that every species is semi-aboreal and needs a 4 foot high cage with sticks and trees for enrichment, but these guys are 150% ground dwelling snakes. They are content to sit on and under their paper substrate for months, and would prefer it if you kept it that way. They need a lot of support for their body, and will not hold onto you at all.
