Freshly Shed Thread!

Haha, I meant pastel like the colour classification, not pastel the gene. All those pale yellows and oranges and greys are lovely!

Sorry for the misunderstanding! Yes, he has some pretty color going on with him for sure! Hopefully the RGI test helps with figuring him out!

In penance I offer a Chester in a brand new skin! Little man just shed today. He’s also good at monopolizing more hands than his small self should be able to.

Anri is NICE! Kahl, or Sharp? Whatever Sundae ends up being, he’s gorgeous, and if he’s to be a breeder, I am sure he’ll make some awesome combos.

@snake-obsessed-lesbo Charlotte is a cute little beep! They always look so unaware of their surroundings. :joy:

@snakieverdi Love the pattern! Some sort of leopard combo I take it?

@kabre Chester is a handsome dude! He really does resemble a Cheeto.

Here’s a couple I didn’t include earlier.

Athena, dh Kahl snow. I am really hoping Inosuke is ready to go this year, and she accepts him. :crossed_fingers: Would love to finally have snows, or at least visual albinos.

Unfortunately the camera didn’t pick up her iridescence at all. She was easily the shiniest snake I took out!

And Pieck had a fresh shed too. Gained noticeable flecking this time.

Thank you so much! Tom really does produce some amazing animals, she looks unreal in person! She’s Kahl strain.

Sundae definitely is a looker either way - my hopes was to pair him to my BEL lady to produce banana/BEL-only clutches, but if it turns out he’s not mojave or super nanner I may just have to find somewhere else to use him, or keep him as a pretty pet. :yum:

Athena looks lovely, there’s something about how nice and dark the edges of her tail saddles that really just makes her tail stand out to me, is that weird? :joy: And Pieck looks awesome, that striping is to die for! I love how bold that headstamp is!

I bet she does! She’ll change a lot as she ages. I think my sunglow girl went from being her bright baby red/orange to her current paled out version around 4 years old and 4.5’ or 5’. It happened all of a sudden. If you have a good pastel or selectively bred lineage Kahl, they’ll get brighter! But gorgeous either way, love me some Kahls.

That’s unfortunate he may not produce the particular clutches you wanted, hopefully he finds a spot in another project! Otherwise definitely a very pretty pet.

I really wish I could show how she looks irl! Irl, her head and sides are a pale gray, it’s really quite striking and not subtle at all to the naked eye. It never shows up quite right in pics. But yes, I love the dark outlines too! Really curious to see the babies she produces.

Yes, I normally don’t like striped jungles, but Pieck really makes it work! For as long as we can see it. lol I wonder if she’ll get a dark nose as she gains black, like Vadon has rn.

I’m excited to see how she ages - saw her parents while at Tom’s, so either way I know I’m happy with her now and will be in the future. I’ll be interested to see how dramatic the color change will be with her though, for sure!

Even if he doesn’t fit into my breeding plans (and has been a brat of a feeder :sob:) I enjoy having him. Will be interesting to see how he continues to color as he ages, as well!

That’s always the struggle with pictures, I wonder why cameras have such a hard time capturing the true-to-eye colors? Either way though, pretty girl and also can’t wait to see what she pops out for you!

I’m a bit similar in taste, so I get what you mean - the striping looks good on her! I’m gonna maybe make a fool of myself and guess; hypo img jungle? Or is anything else happening genetically?

I highly recommend em! They’re just so cool

Gorgeous girly Ripley decided to dress in some new clothes for her birthday - she’s now a whole year old!

Her dwarf blood must be putting in some work, because she’s been taking her time with growing, but I definitely can see and feel the difference. She’s also gone from a wary little worm to being the sweetest serpent, tolerating my apish tomfoolery from having to grab her head to apply eyeball massages to trying to get her to hold still for photos! If I had to guess, I’d say she’s probably somewhere between 4’ - 4.5’ now.

Here’s the pretty little lady back when I got her in September of last year!

Love the colors on this hold back girl. Fresh shed and reminds me of a yummy shebert ice cream.

Ouf, those purpley tones are so nice! You get it with the dessert vibe some of these banana combos give, that’s why I named my boy Sundae. She’s got some fun genetics going as well, what is your give-away that she’s carrying ghost? I have a hard time telling, with the banana being so dominating on the color side of things.

Can’t wait to see how she colors up over time, or your future projects with her!

Here’s the CGs from that clutch all together. You can definitely see how wild the Orange Ghost tweaked the colors.
And then the vanilla pastels for additional show of that color.

In her half sibling it was a nice kind of haziness to the purple that tipped it off. I wish it was easier to describe but it’s definitely something you could see in person

Ah she’s one of Tom’s! Congrats on snagging her. Definitely will be a fun progression to watch, albinos change so much no matter the lineage.

Oof, sucks Sundae’s such a problem feeder, hopefully he comes around for you.

Thank you! I am definitely excited to try Athena. And yes, Pieck is a hypo jungle IMG! She’s het VPI as well, though that doesn’t change her appearance obviously.

Oooh Ripley is looking good! Very bright colors and clean pattern! I would say 4.5’ isn’t that far off typical growth, if you aren’t pushing the food at least. Even my girl, who was basically starved the first 6 months of her life, was about 4.5’ at a year when I got her. But she didn’t come with any chance of dwarf blood, either. That’s awesome she’s such a sweet girl! Definitely don’t want an adult retic, dwarf mix or not, that’s a butthead.

@armiyana Your holdback girl is so pretty! I definitely see the sherbert resemblance. :joy: Such delicate colors. The clutch picture you posted later is stunning too! They really do have a hazy look to them.

Haha, yep! It was awesome getting to go pick her up, seeing her parents in person. I look forward to watching her age for sure, if she turns out anything like mom and dad! :yum:

I’m not terribly worried, he’s usually not too bad but I think the last few feeding attempts were just poor timing/planning. He ended up shedding after the first two refusals, and then I thought I’d try to see if he’d take a rat which was not in the cards lol. Either way, he’s still growing pretty well, so we’re still chillin!

Nice! My boy Tiki is Hypo IMG het VPI, crazy to see how much of a difference one gene makes. That jungle is really pulling its weight!

Thank you! And that’s good to hear - I’m so used to seeing animals pushing 6ft+ in the first year, though I know a lot of that is likely because they’re being fed quite generously. She really is a sweetheart though, still working with her on tap training (both on knocking on the enclosure before opening and then gently tapping her head to let her know it’s not food time), as I want her to grow into an animal that even at 10+ feet is still easy enough to work with. Seeing that she could potentially grow up to triple my height in length, it indeed is rather important she doesn’t become a butthead! :joy:
