Me too! I see that in these lines pretty regularly. One of the folks who has one of Ingrid’s cousins refers to it as a “moonbeam.”

More shedders here but I only got pics of Muscadine. I know, he looks fake. It’s just how he looks. The purple in his “hurricane” markings is a bit darker in real life but otherwise this is pretty accurate on my screen. His colors are definitely developing in unusual ways.

I had a few other snakes shed at the same time, but only this guy’s pics turned out useful. The others were so whitewashed by the sun you couldn’t really see them. 
So I plan to redo their pics soon. For now, enjoy a fresh shed Doma! Ferrari jungle poss het VPI. He had a sudden weight loss recently, I had dropped his mouse size and he didn’t take it well. 
He’s mostly back to where I want him since putting him back on large mice but still a bit thin. He’s grown into them well by this point anyway.
The sun broke out from behind the clouds, but I snapped this before it reached max brightness.

Hopefully he does snap out of it! At least you can still enjoy watching him worst case scenario. haha What sneaky girl, that’s hilarious. Even my most food motivated don’t go that far, is she also a retic? It sounds like kingsnake behavior.

@caryl Is Amite maybe younger than Miss Bexli? Love her lavender color! Love Ingrid’s yellow sides, the corns with her color schemes always get me. You never get those color combos in boas. haha Fortunato is a handsome man! Never heard of cubed before, so I can’t make it out enough from his current look to see what it looks like. Omg, Muscadine is a stunner. 
I wonder how he’s gonna look like as an adult? Very interesting boy for sure.

Thanks! Muscadine really is quite something.
You do remember correctly. He is a Red Factor Strawberry Plasma (that’s Lavender + Diffused for non-corn folks) Motley-Stripe. The parents had only one viable egg last year, and he was in it. It is quite an usual combo and required several hets to combine. I knew the hets were there but odds were still long. His dam is a Strawberry Plasma Motley but her coloring is much more purple. She does sem to have RF but it’s much more subtle. I have been quite surprised by the bright RF tones Muscadine has developed. Here are his parents.

Thanks! Amite and Bexli are clutchmates, actually. They always had different tones. There was also a Plasma female from a second clutch who had yet another look. I know there is a lot of individual variation in morphs, but it seems that Lavenders have even more.
Cube is a version of Stripe. In the best ones, the dorsal pattern is a series of cube/square markings. This is Fortunato when he hatched.

His parents are so lovely as well! Is RF some sort of polygenetic trait like pastels in boas then? Or an actual separate morph?
I thought about them being clutch mates, but when I reread I couldn’t see anything that would indicate that. Guess it’s part of the variety morphs can have!
That’s interesting that a stripe gene can do that! Fortunato certainly has changed a lot! What gene is causing the loss of his pattern?

Red Factor is a separate trait which is incompletely dominant (in actual genetic terms, not hobby terms). One copy shows and has an effect. Two copies have more. It enhances reds and brightens other things. It may be seen at hatching but often takes a few sheds or even many months to appear. It can be subtle or very dramatic. Males are often brighter. Brighter parents usually have brighter offspring, though subtlety in a parent can still yield super bright offspring and vice versa. I remain amazed by Muscadine.
Good question, lol. I think it’s mostly just being Anery. Most Stripes keep their patterns whether they’re Cube or not. Aneries in general do lose the sharp contrast with which they hatch. They become more gray, lose the true blacks. Fortunato has picked up all kinds of nifty tints I didn’t necessarily expect.
Btw, Fortunato and Muscadine have the same sire. Wild, huh?

Active but not flighty or nervous. The guy I got her from said she was used as an educational animal at his store so she was used to being handled every day by children.

That’s so cool!! I have a special place in my heart for education animals. I miss doing that.

The second snake I ever owned was a San Luis and she was so incredibly calm I used her for education and helping kids overcome their fears. I lost her eight years ago and still miss her dearly.
