@caron She’s been hiding for the most part, but she did eat yesterday so that’s good! I’m hoping she feels comfortable enough to start exploring again soon. She’s on Eco Earth substrate. It holds moisture well without molding, and helps keep the humidity up in her enclosure. I’ll definitely post updates as she grows. I’m excited to see how dark she gets! I’m hoping she ends up solid black
Well as dark as she is now, she could very well become black as night……Boas are great eaters so you won’t have to worry about that. It’s best to let her do her thing and hide until she gets used to everything and that’s just what you are doing. It’s been my experience with my boas that they are just very slow and laid back couch potatoes when they get older. They will find a comfortable warm spot and curl up with you pretty much wherever you are.
I’m glad you have your girl and I know you will enjoy her for years to come. She truly is a gorgeous animal and I know you are very proud of her and you sure have a right to be @anon5387911! ![]()
Hello, I have a female IMG 100% Het Leopard boa. Looking for suggestions on what I could breed her too? Thanks

Here’s my girl Lenore. 2023 IMG het VPI. So in love with this girl, I’ll take any opportunity to show her off. ![]()
Can’t say that I blame you Jennifer!
I would like to know what is the chance of an IMG coming out of a litter were as both parent don’t express IMG?
That would be 0%
Yeah, as Riley said, if neither parent has IMG, then none of their offspring will have the trait. IMG is incomplete dominant (I believe, someone correct me if I’m wrong), meaning that an animal having one copy of the gene (heterozygous or “het”) will express the trait visually. A boa is either visually IMG or it doesn’t have IMG. There are no “invisible hets” with a dominant trait the way there are with recessive traits.
That was my conclusion as well, thank you all.
I guess I must have become inactive before I got my IMGs, I see I never posted here!
So introducing my older first. ‘25 IMG motley jungle poss het VPI from Dustin Lindsey Reptiles named Vadon. He loves to square up any time I open him up
, but has yet to actually get defensive on me.
From when I first got him.
And some recent pics.
The only other IMG I currently have is my 2025 female hypo jungle IMG het VPI, Pieck, from Blueprint Boids. I haven’t had her long so she hasn’t changed a whole lot yet. She also loves to square up, but more in defensive postures vs Vadon just running up and rearing up like a racer.
He loses the attitude when I hold him, she likes to be on the ready.
After her first shed with me:
Most recent pic, already some subtle black gains but not a ton.
These guys are stunning! That motley is an utter knockout ![]()
My little guy Tiki, same genetics as your little girl minus the jungle!
Such beauties @ccboas! Don’t be a stranger!!! ![]()
