Hello, Po! You are a good looking fella!

When you said they flatten their neck in a threat display I was NOT expecting the vertical hood, what a unique choice to try to make yourself look bigger :joy:

I thought my eyes were deceiving me, that is so neat the way they flatten "vertically "

It’s actually wild, they puff up with air when they do it so I can actually see light filtering through his neck! My girl is too chill to do it much.

Figured I would share a few pictures of the girl and the boy that I got recently! They’re both growing like weeds. The girl was about 7g when I got her, and she’s about 34g now and growing so well. The male is adapting really easily to his new environment and is a great eater too.

And Po:

I love how her eyes are blue and his are gold. Gosh, I’m so excited to work with these snakes. They are incredibly docile and easy to handle. Both the girl and the boy handle like a dream and are so easy to interact with.

Figured I would give an update on these! Po is almost up to 80g now, which is amazing, and Katsa is nearly 60g. They’re both doing amazing and I am so in love with this species. I’m hoping to add a couple more to my collection.

I really like their markings. The little white patches in particular stand out.

Whoa!! These guys are growing so much and they’re so beautiful! Katsa’s colours in particular are so striking. Is there colour-based sexual dimorphism there or is that just natural variation within the species?

As far as I’m aware it’s just natural variation within the species! I keep an eye on wild specimens on iNaturalist and there are some really cool looking animals out there - high whites, high blacks, low pattern.

Oh to be able to go herping looking for your own specimens to bring home!
