I have purchased this female as an Amber Hypo. However, the breeder just called me and is no longer confident that she’s amber.
I am unfamiliar with the markers of the gene and woukd appreciate if someone could assist.

You need much better pictures for help in IDing an animal. The lighting on this has a very prominent pink hue which will make it nearly impossible to give a reasonable evaluation
Best lighting is outside in indirect light/bright shade

Will need better pictures of the first one. Do you have pictures of the parents? And what morphs where the parents? If you don’t have this already the breeder should be able to give this info with no problem. I always give bloodlines history paper work and pictures of parents to anyone who buy a boa from me.
Your male looks to be a motley boa.

Heres the only other pic i have of the female. Deep in shed, which I don’t think helps.
Female is coral albino, male is hypo motley amber. I’ll pop some pics down below. New to the community and its only allowing me one attachment per post.
The male is making me feel like he is not amber motley, however, the breeder is sure he is. And it is a reputable breeder down here.

Amber is just a name someone came up with to describe there pastle boa line. There are a lots of different pastle names now.
Your male is just a motley boa het albino. Your female is a pastle hypo boa het albino. Since the mother of your boas is an albino coral both are 100% het albino coral.
The father of your boas is a hypo motley pastle (amber). Plus he has something else going on.
In all my years of breeding boas with his other look most of the time don’t prove out to be any type of new morph. Kind of falls in the same category as the paradox boa. Paradox is not a mutation that can be made it just shows up sometimes.

According to my research and information provided by the breeder it is a co dominant gene. With the super form often being referred to as “chocolate”.
I have also spoken to a couple large local breeders who corrolated with it being a seperate gene. If i use the MM breeding calculator it also shows to be co dominant.
I’m really hoping that this shows do be a genetic trait rather than an occasional occurance as i have invested quite heavily into this gene.

Your Amber hypo female looks very nice. I only just started reading about the Amber morph. So I don’t have any real info about it. But the ones I have seen now I do see where they add red and gold colors to boas. So I assume the father to your baby with the funky colors must be a super Amber hypo motley.
The Amber morph reminds me of my BCA X BCI project that I have been working on for the past 3 year. Don’t think mine will give me any funky color or pattern like the father to yours. But mine will make similar red and gold colored boas. I will add then to my BCCXBCI motley jungles project in the future to make cool looking patterns.
I breed my pure Southern Brazilian Amarali to my BCI super sunglow. And produced 11 hypo babies. I only kept 6 babies for myself. Now I do wish I would have kept all of them. All of them have very nice red gold colors in them. The side medallions look like raw filet mignon. And most are getting a golden base color to them as they get older instead of gray, tan and light brown. It will still be 2 to 3 years before I breed these together to see what they will make. I may add the males to other projects sooner.
They have similar colors to your female. Here are some pictures of them so you can see what yours may look like in the future.

These are stunning Tom! I’d love to get a BCC one day, sadly not at all available in the South African market.
I might import a pair at some point, but for now it’s unrealistic.
Honestly the father to this pair looks a bit weird to me, almost like the saturation was turned way up. I’d love to see him in person but that picture is all I have.
I ended up getting this female as well as an amber motley male from the same clutch. Very excited to see what ends up happening as they’re obviously het coral albino. I’m planning on pairing her with an unrelated het albino male, however, the temptation of a potential super amber sunglow is very tempting.
The colors on the hypo amber are like nothing I’ve ever seen. The reds and pinks are something to behold. No matter what i try i can’t get a photo to accurately show her colors. I’ll try again in direct sunlight once she’s settled. They had a rough week. One night in transit then they had to spend a week with a friend. Then today they got moved again, and tomorrow it’s anout a 9 hour drive back home.
I’ll post some pics of the male tomorrow. He wasn’t keen on being handled today but keen to try tomorrow.

Both took frozen thawed ASF right off the bat. Was a bit concerned about feeding them only 48 hours after getting home, but wanted to risk it as they’ve been without food for over two weeks at this point.

Feeding photos are against the TOS, so please don’t post them. But do gush about it in text! Lol.
Getting two new babies to eat is awesome. Always a good feeling there. And getting them to stay on the same feeding schedule while settling in makes it sooo much easier. I had 2 new snakes thankfully do the same not long ago
