The amount of invasive aquatic snails in the streams coming out of Lake Michigan were insane! Here is a handful after about 1 minute of creeking

What a beautiful shade of green!

My thoughts exactly! Shame they are such an invasive species bc they are like little emeralds! I tried scratching at the shells to see if it was algae and it seemed to be the shell itself

I think they could be incorporated into some incredible looking jewelry pieces

Pretty moth I found at work a few days ago. I’m just realizing that I find a lot of cool moths at work. Not quite sure why.

Jumping spiders are one of the cutest things in existence. How can you be scared of the face?

Found a new (to me) invert while watering the gardens! Google Lens says this is a two spot tree cricket, and he certainly did jump! Such pretty pearlescent colors in person, maybe he recently molted

Love a threat display! My M Balfouri will usually do it when I fill up the water dish!

Yes, this is what crayfish breeding looks like.

I would be happy but keeping crayfish in PA is already illegal so I think I am going to just let my current ones, which totally don’t exist, eat the babies. I may also separate out 2 or so of the babies if they have any special treats that are cool.

Here is my little spider friend! I have had him (or her) for around a month and a half now. Also any idea on the species? There are a couple that look very similar to me.

It looks like some sort of orb-weaver. Based on the range and appearance, I assume it’s Larinioides cornutus.
