I feel this in my soul.
My first two snakes were a sand boa and a blood python, neither of which really hold onto you, so it’s easy to just plop them down wherever you need to put them.
Figuring out how to put down a boa who doesn’t want to be put down has been…interesting. Most of the time when I clean her enclosure, I can’t get her into the holding tub I have for her, so she just wraps around my arm and “helps” me clean. ![]()
I’m 100% the tegu. Hehe

Hmmm, he must just be stressed from the lack of hides and enrichment in this enclosure!

I bet he needs more UVB and deeper substrate …
Have you checked his humidity recently? I’ve heard this species doesn’t do the best in arid environments.
