If you’ve seen me mention a baby called Sneaky, that was my first clutch problem child. He only just started eating regularly right before he hit a year old. The first clutch is always gonna be the hardest, because there’s so much to learn, so much contradictory advice, and you’re always gonna be paranoid you’re doing something wrong. You just gotta keep powering through it, be more stubborn than the baby and they’ll start eating.

Ill offer again Sunday. Ill use dishsoap on the pinkies to remove their scent and then leave them in their main tubs this time. Its a good thing I prepared for this and got in a lot of pinkies.

This is where having varying sizes of other snakes comes in handy, I’ve always got someone to be the garbage disposal. :joy:

It’s always hilarious to watch an adult corn eat a pinkie! Mine have been enjoying these little treats between normally sized meals!

I love to give mine to my adult female hognose who insists on eating meals sideways. She gets full chipmunk cheeks trying to get them down.

What stubborn little babies you’ve got. I’m sorry, I do know how frustrating it is.

I really do think this is true. THE most crucial factor to get babies feeding well is that they must feel secure. You know that you’re not putting them in danger by moving them from bin to bin, adding or changing decor, traveling to the vet, and other things. They don’t know this. I strongly encourage you to put them in their enclosures and leave them completely alone apart from when you put a food item in there. When you do offer food again, leave the food and the baby alone for at least 2 hours before even peeking.

I also concur that you’re little ones aren’t currently full of poo.

Chances are great that all will be well, eventually. They hatch with a surprising amount of metabolic “cushion” to get them through their early life. Fingers :crossed_fingers:, prayers said.

Ill make sure not to move them at all from now on. Ill make sure to feed in the tubs too so hopefully they feel more secure.

Lol this so true :joy:. My vet (who works for a large zoo’s hot and non-hot snake room) literally said to me,”You know boas lay eggs, right?” She also told me that the vestigial spurs were genetic amoralities . Love her though, she gives me vaccines and blood test just because I ask :upside_down_face:.

Thats nice then. Tbh im not sure who was even sexing them. I think it might have been the nurse. They have different people for different things and they are attached to a pet store too. I usually go to this vet mainly becuase they are within walking distance.

Lol! So if boas lay “eggs” I wish your vet would have told my girl “Kaluha” that when she gave birth to her 11 “live” little boa babies last year! :joy:
