My first ever clutch

I do love rainbow boas so maybe I’d get one of them?

Don’t worry about sexing them too much, just on getting them to eat for you. Then this may be not popular for me to say but the truth is back in the 90s when I had corns I learned how to pop them from bill and Kathy Loves book and video on the internet with dial up with a real computer😂 If you really can’t find a local experienced reptile person to hands on show you, learn from vids on YouTube! It’s not hard and it’s safer then probing at such a young age.
Also about your feeding, I know you don’t have access to live mouse pinks, I was thinking maybe you could buy a obviously pregnant female mouse from a pet store set her up and throw em a live tiny newborn pinkie with them in a deli cup for their first meal, I had some problem feeders but after 1-2 live pinks they got with the program! I understand it’s all about what you can find so maybe this could be a last resort type of option for you?

@banereptiles So I remember dial up modems and that weird “ring”tone! Wow! I also remember when there were encyclopedias and NO internet! Holy cow! Lol!:upside_down_face::smile::smile:

Someone saved Kathy’s videos and put them up on YouTube, that and one other video were how I learned.

Not sure if id even be able to do this. All the pet stores near me seperate the males and females to avoid births.

Sorry I’ve always been able to ask for a pregnant mouse or rat when I started or adding to my own breeders. I always go to reptile specific pet stores though. You may have to find someone or a way to get live somehow though, if not for these guys down the road if you do continue breeding. I don’t like to feed live myself if I can help it, even the ones that start on live I try to get on frozen, but you do what you have to to get them to eat.

yeah ill try. Hopefully they start eating before thats the case though.

There are a LOT of tricks to try to get stubborn babies going. I think the whole process is possibly more frustrating for we humans than for the snakes themselves. Leave them alone and let them just come to terms with being secure. I would give 4-5 days between attempts. We will do all we can to help you get them feeding.

I’ve only been opening the tubs to give fresh water. I offered them food Wednesday so ill try again Monday. This time ill try in the tubs so I don’t move them around as much.

Wise advice, in my book. And yeah, the Loves’ book is still on my shelf. We’ve learned things since then, and genetic possibilities have exploded, but the book still has a lot of solid info. And man, dial-up?! Yeah, I remember getting excited when I heard the squeal of modems connecting and expanding my world. Ah, memories.

Babies are being offered food again. Thawed them out with hot tap water then warmed using boiling water. Ive left the food in the tubs turned off all things making noise and left the room closed the curtains and put a blanket over them hopefully they finally start eating now.

Just checked up on them and pebbles has finally eaten a full pinky but bambam hasnt eaten a pinky head yet. Ill re-warm it and offer again. Overall this is going well! Just slightly worried since bambam is the smaller one. But im glad one of them finnaly have a full belly!

Yay! I’ve been following this since I’ve had a baby who was a finicky boy for his whole first year. Smearing a little raw egg yolk on the pinky for an enticing smell, or “braining” the FT pinkie head (poking it with a sharp point so the uh, head contents leaked out a little) sometimes helped, if he goes a while longer and doesn’t seem interested.

Since bambam is a runt and hatched at only 4g im only offering them the head. It also must have been so stressful during thar year with all of the refusals you must have gone through.

Great news!
