My first ever clutch

Make sure the vet takes a look at that left side cloacal area, this is what I’m seeing. Could be nothing, but as you said the area looked lifted, it’s worth inspecting.

@demma I’d say urgent but not emergent unless she continues showing signs of discomfort or trying to pass something, or if there’s any more blood.

I would not class this as an emergency, no. It does merit a visit but at this point doesn’t look “take her in this minute” urgent.

Ok so we will call the vets first thing in the morning then x

Her activity is completely usual and shes still very active. Shes still been trying to climb and I havent seen anything unusual.

Agreed. If this happens, things are getting much more serious.

That sounds good.

Usual activity is good. I would remove her options for climbing, though. Leave her hide, but otherwise remove decor. She could potentially strain something climbing around.

Ill make sure to do that but she will probably still try and climb up the walls of her enclosure.

This is what shes in currently

Shes just got her 2 hides and her water bowl.

That looks okay. If she becomes very energetic or frantic, climbing the walls like she really wants to get away NOW this can indicate pain. If it’s a normal activity, that’s different of course. If she does become hyperactive, you can put her into a smaller container within her enclosure to restrict climbing.

When she does climb the walls shes usually quite slow and calm so it shouldnt really be an issue then.

Should be okay. Hopefully.

Despite the unfortunate news I do also have some good news. Pebbles has now hit 10g! And bambam has gone back up to 3g!

Pebbles also just decided to shed out so here are some post 2nd shed pics!

Any thoughts about RF or is it still too early to tell?

So I just finished reading all the new thread parts and correct me if I’m wrong @caryl or @noodlehaus but I see one saving grace because the blood appears to be bright which means the blood is not old which is a good sign. Maybe whatever is stuck in under the vent area is causing pressure on the muscles used to constrict and expel the poop…….

@demma what kind of substrate is that in her viv? It looks like there may be larger pieces other than shredded aspen? If one of those pieces somehow got wedged under the vent?

Just a thought.

Shes on aspen but some pieces are a bit larger than others so i think she mightnhave goten a peice stuck. Hopefully a vet will be ablw to safely remove it if thats the case.

@caron heres the bedding shes on aswell as all my other snakes.

Ok so I managed to get a vet appointment for mater today. Hopefully it is just a bit of stuck bedding that can be removed.

@shadowspiderjack I do hope it is the bedding and of if it is it is certainly not your fault at all. This could happen to anyone at any point in time. You did the right thing of course so we will see what the vet says!:wink::+1::thinking:

Turns out it was bedding in the end. She probably accidentally digested some while eating. The vet managed to remove the bedding which ember did not approve of lol. They told me to keep her on paper towels until her next shed and to give her a daily bath. They also mentioned shes in perfect body health! It looks like Ember is all ok!
