Oh how weird, that bulge is pretty significant. I hope you can figure out what’s going on and that it’s treatable! Poor guy (not to mention your poor wallet).
That’s terrible! Poor guy (and poor you). Keep us updated. We’d love to hear updates when you know more.
Poor thing, hopefully the little guy gets through it alright! ![]()
Interesting on the shot of the bulge, the fluid in there seems to have taken up so much space and it looks like you’re able to see the daylight slightly through his skin? Unless I’m mistaken and something else is going on with the lighting. Either way, little lad had to feel a whole lot better after the fluid got drained.
Any updates for the little man? I saw he got the cyst drained from your FB post – how’s he been doing since?
Pic tax of my guys – occasionally I have these two out together for enrichment (for them and for me, lol)
About five minutes after this, though, Chester was clearly putting the moves on – lots of tongue flicking, slithering up her back, kind of wiggling his hips like he was trying to line up. It was interesting to observe, but I separated them and put them back away when I spotted him trying to evert. They may not have a sense of privacy but I do lmao
I think this plus Andromeda randomly laying a huge slug last month suggests it’s almost time. I’m wildly excited, but I want to get a little more weight on Andy first. She dropped back below 200g after that slug.
Omg I cannot wait until my little noodles are the size of yours.
Chester and Andromeda are like the time-skip of my two
Holy moly, they really are!! I think your blue-eye is going to end up a little paler than Andy, maybe, with how pink she is and how light her eye is – I bet she’ll be crazy gorgeous.
I still remember Chester being the approximate dimensions of a thick shoelace; it’s still shocking to me how big he is now, even if he’s only ~100g. It creeps up on you, them getting larger! What are their names?
For now I’ve been going with Jua and Nyota. Swahili for sun and star. I dunno if I’ll change them later. Most of the time they’re just 'the little guy’s or ‘spicy girl’
Those are really lovely names!
Your blue-blue-ey is a bit spicy, huh?
They both think that they’re kingsnakes.
I’ve had each of them wrapped around my fingers more than once. Lol.
Mine are actually the opposite of yours I think? Albino gal and BEL boy. So spicy Cheeto for me.
Ahhh, I love her unflinching dedication to completely ineffectual savagery lmao child you are the size of an extra-thick shoelace! Those eyes!
So there’s a guy nearby who’s been breeding housies (along with his other projects) and my wife and I went to learn from him how to probe and pop, and we held a couple of his snakes in the process. One little albino gal was eyeballing my wife’s finger, but instead of striking she just kind of… tilted her head… opened her mouth thoughtfully… leaned in…
My wife handed her back right quick before she could sink her teeth in but it was the funniest thing to watch. They’re such goofballs.
Ah the subtle approach ![]()
It was very casual, sooo casual, how did we even notice she was doing it ![]()
The snake version of trying to casually throw your arm over your date’s shoulders at the movie by pretending to stretch
![]()
Hahaha. Funny comparison. I’ve had a couple of mine do the exact same casual bite. They got me once, but I seeee their tactics now.
That’s kind of hilarious! Now I may possibly be able to get a ugandan green/lineatus soon and contribute to this funny thread of funny spaghetti!
I’m so so curious abut that maybe-green maybe-lineatus; generally those two are pretty distinguishable, unless we’re talking some sort of hybrid. Do you remember how it looked? Was there a side stripe?
Just head striping and no lines/reticulation either if I remember correctly, and sort of an auburny olive mix for the color. She was very pretty!
Oooh, fascinating. I’d put my money on a green or a green hybrid, in that case. I really hope you get to bring her home, this is a tantalizing mystery! :3
Hah! I’m so tickled this is a common enough thing to be remarked upon. Makes one wonder if that tactic ever works in the wild. Maybe mice get taken in by the ol smooth moves and don’t see the teeth ![]()
Did some digging and my enigma house snake’s identity is slimmed down to two options, a possible lineatus/patternless locality cape hybrid (More doubting on this one), or a togo striped house snake! I’ve been able to get a clearer recollection of the animal and it was a very rusty auburn with amber colored eyes.
