Pituophis People?

Jealous of your northern pines! I need a permit to keep them here in NC because they are protected. Maybe someday I can find a way to get a permit so I can get some.

Beautiful colors on those guys! :+1::sunglasses:

Agreed. Especially if it’s not wild collected. We don’t have any regs on keeping venomous animals, big cats, etc. :person_shrugging:t2:

I like the different colors y’all have posted in this thread. Their heads remind me of cowboy and bandits, and just need a little bandana tied around to make them outlaws of the west.

They like to pretend they are tough bandidos sometimes also. I had my albino whiteside girl out the other day to clean up a present she left me in her cage. When I went to put her back she began the song and dance of her people. The funny thing is as soon as I picked her up she stopped the whole “I’m a rattlesnake bit”

volume up

Here’s Hank Hercule’s he digested his rat now I took him out of his home for 1st time in about 3 weeks and I was shocked at his girth and weight! Hes now close to 6 feet and weighs around 6 pounds!.

He wws born 7-20-2021 .

He does hiss a little but never strikes just have to be careful when feeding him of all the snakes including bull’s hes got the most impressive feeding response. He will only turn down a meal when in deep shed cycle.

I think he was a little upset I handled him! Well I will reward him with a large rat tomorrow!.

Oh my he is massive! He doesn’t look that upset really. All of your guys look super healthy too! I love to see pictures of healthy well cared for animals! :+1::clap:

Handsome fella! I think mine may end up looking like him with the more orange over red coloration overall.

Couple shots of a few of the kiddos from earlier.

Marley - Trumbower Hypo/Ballum Axanthic Ghost. He’s lucky he’s a handsome dude because this guy has some ‘tude. Gonna need some work handling.

Gertie (Purty Gertie) - Red Stillwater Hypo. This little girl gets more red every time I look at her. She should be an awesome looking adult. She’s very chill and easy to handle.

Awwww! I like my guys to have a little bit of spice but not enough to correct! Great looking animals @eorr53! :+1::sunglasses:

Bewitching expressions on those colorful creatures. Marley, especially - if looks could kill! :joy:

Hah. He’s definitely a mean muggin’ sour puss :joy:

We had a good session today though. One hiss right when I picked him up and minimal tail rattling. Very active and flighty though, but improving.

I’ll bet when he adds some more size he’ll gain some more confidence too! Other than the occasional crazy black pine, I haven’t come across many bull, or pine snakes that stay aggressive or bitey at all, contrary to popular belief! Heck even the few wild caught young adults I had as a kid settled down wonderfully! :+1:

Yeah, the northern pine I had growing up was very chill. All my other bulls are pretty chill. My Hybino and Albino Whiteside can be a little moody when first picked up but settle down quickly. My two reds are puppy dog tame. Have never hissed, tail rattled, or bluffed, and they aren’t flighty either.
