-NO MORPHS- what is your rarest reptile in your collection? Mine is a *natrix maura * (Spanish water snake) maybe the only CB exemplar of my country (Italy)
He’s not in my collection yet (still with the breeder), but I recently bought a Madagascar Ground Boa. I also have some CH Calabaria, which are rare, and I used to own a group of Bismarck Ringed Pythons.
I dunno how “rare” any of my snakes are since I typically specialize in corns and sand boas, but I do have a Tri colored hognose male. Nothing like extremely rare to some but he is a gem in my collection. (The first Pic is a cropped feeding image, if it’s deemed inappropriate I’ll remove it just let me know)
I have a mosaic leopard gecko, which is pretty rare, but the species itself is common. (There is no morph called ‘mosaic’ in leopard geckos- I’m referring to the cause of the ‘half-and-half’ appearance.)
I’d like to see a picture of that.
Sure! Her name is Harvey (points if you get the reference). She is Normal/Blizzard. Here are pics of her as a 2 year old:
Here is her old morph market listing, with a pic of her as a juvenile.
A pic of her as a hatchling with 2 siblings.
(edits for links & to add her name because I’m her mommy. )
@mblaney Miss Harvey Dent?
Indeed! flips coin
That is a really cool pattern on her.
I dont know how rare this is, because I don’t know what she is, but she is my newest leo. I think she is the most visually stunning animal in my collection so far. Her name was Zero when we thought she was a boy. Upon further inspection we determined her to be a her and changed her name to Zara.
lol I said no morphs but I appreciate it @klp1190
Oh damn sorry @david21 thats what I get for posting at 1am when I should have been asleep. Please let me know and I’ll remove it if you’d like.
I post these guys a lot, but my rarest non-morph reptile would likely be Xenodermus javanicus (Dragon Snake).
nah im fine btw its very beautiful that Leo gecko
I can’t find any information about how rare they are in the wild, but hainan cave geckos can be hard to find fir sale! This is mine, his name is Feitan
Do subspecies count for a common reptile? Such as there being more rare sub species of leopard geckos?
I have a pair of Bismarck Ringed Pythons. I also have a pair of Northern White Lipped Pythons but they are not as rare as the Southerns.
I don’t have any rare reptiles
I have ball pythons, hognoses, a bci boa, and crested geckos
But it’s really cool seeing what unique animals other people have!
Not as rare as most, but have seen a steep decrease in availability in last few years. Southern Wlp.
My gosh!! Look at those eyes, just speechless!!
My rarest would probably be either my Rhamphiophis or my mainland Oligodon purpurascens. Not many people working with either. My Charina and Calabaria might rank in there too
