I need to use more references for cats and dogs, but yes I do! Less experience with them than reptiles/dinosaurs, but they still come up in my art rotation pretty often

Today’s episode - I THINK I FOUND MY THING
Still sorting out the techniques and kinks, far from perfect yet, but here is my first set of Lino Block printed stamps using fabric ink on a cotton T Shirt
The end goal is to one day soon have many dinosaur and nature themed stamps (and the proper technique), to thrift, customize, and re-sell high quality clothing - thus upcycling!

A whale shark and a coelacanth swim onto a t shirt…sounds like the start of a bad joke
The whale shark stamp needs cleaned up a bit, but its a good first pass on both

I’m so sorry for your loss. Gak was a special guy. I was just looking through some Gak pics last week and enjoying him all over again. I know you will miss him. You certainly gave him the best life. RIP Gak.

Thank you Caryl, its been so difficult, especially since I wasn’t there to say goodbye. I did the math, and I adopted him in 7th grade when I was 12 years old, and I turned 24 at the start of April, so he literally has been with me for half of my lifespan.
No wonder it hurts so badly, it feels wrong without him here

I’m so sorry. They really do become a permanent part of our hearts, especially the ones who are in our lives for so long. I know words don’t really help much, and I know every loss is unique. We do understand the specialness of extended time with a loved animal. We wish comfort for you, and hope that soon all the memories will bring only smiles.

I thought my broken heart would take away my ability for art for a while, but it turns out art is a good outlet for grief.
I decided to spend the several days (how has it already been almost a week?? 
) creating this memorial piece for my boy
In a few weeks for the paint to cure, I will seal it to make it glossy and fade-resistant. Then I will bring it home to give to my mom. She has been taking it hard as well, as she interacted with him each and every day, and now there is a huge empty space in both the living room and our hearts.
I’m tempted to keep it, but the process was to help me heal, and the product is to help her heal. I cry when I look at it, but it does look like my boy and it makes me smile too
