Sitting at about 5 months with this gorgeous girl, and what a wonderful 5 months it’s been! She has gone from definitely being wary of me to being one of the most puppy dog tame animals I have.
We’ve had our trials, as last month she developed a blocked lacrimal duct and began retaining fluid behind her left eye cap. It caused the eye to swell up quite badly and I had a vet appointment scheduled, but after some research and conversations with others who’ve had the same thing pop up, I managed to find a remedy; with a couple big meals and regular ocular massages that she’s been incredibly patient with, her eye has come back down to nearly normal. Definitely keeping an eye (ha) on it, but as of right now it seems we’re almost in the clear!
Thank you both! Her yellows are so nice and bright, against the blacks it looks so wicked cool. I’m still very uneducated on morphs as I don’t intend to breed retics, but she’s a platinum sunfire tiger that’s 12.5% Selayer. Gotta say, I may be biased, but it has to be one of my favorite combos!
It’s my understanding that she should pretty much stay like this into adulthood, though I may be wrong! Either way, I’m excited to find out.
Thank you! She’s been awesome to work with, here’s hoping that she keeps her sweet personality as she grows. I’ve heard that tigers tend to have 'tude, lol.
Thank you, Tom! And yeah, the eye definitely still looks a little wonky with the way the swelling stretched the scales, but thankfully it’s looking better every day.
Haha, never say never! I didn’t think I’d ever get one for the longest time, but here we are!
Seriously? A good friend of mine has a birthday on that day but she is about 35 years younger than me! A very happy belated birthday to you my sweet dear friend! ! I hope your birthday was wonderful!!!
