Show Off Your Cresties 🤩

@foxreptile im not very squeamish, but I don’t do death well. Matt does the dirty work and I just sit and have anxiety. Definitely not for the faint of heart. When Tiny dropped their tail, he was so nonchalant about it, and I’m over in the corner having a panic attack. :woman_facepalming:t2:

@ghoulishcresties May I request a CGD thread from you? I want to learn more!

@irmelinis LOOK AT THAT LITTLE CHONK!

Yeah, I thought it was pretty chonky actually, for its age. Compared to my other two small ones that are much more slender in build.

I forgot about the pipes.

As someone who spent 50% of my life at the pool, noodles won’t work as well as the pipe insulation. Noodles break down over time and constant misting and their little claws would make them not last very long and shed into little pieces. I think the pipe insulation is a little more heavy duty and water resistant. Pool noodles are more like sponges.

We have two bigger hides for each of the babies. The first one you can see behind Stormy. it’s one of those bendy pipes that we hot glued to the side of the boxes. They loved it.

The second is a piece if PVC pipe that Matt drilled holes in and we stuffed with sphagnum. When we cleaned out the enclosures last night, most of them were in their pipes.

Just gonna dump some pictures from last night here.

I may be biased, but I think Tiny is the cutest little frog butt ever. Still so tiny!!

Caught Fudge mid wardrobe change. :flushed:

Fudge and Hershey are exactly like their father. They like to finger paint with their food. We literally just cleaned…

So ungrateful  food everywhere!
Because of your cuteness you might be forgiven though.

This adult male, 6 years old, has lived here for two weeks now. Hasn’t eaten anything at all. I know they can go weeks without food, but I’m worried. Going to put him in another tank to see if he likes it better. (he’s in the pet box because I’m cleaning, nothing else)

He’s so handsome!

Generally, I try different CGD and like to mix a lot of them up. Bee pollen also works!

Will he eat bugs?

Doesn’t eat the bugs I’ve provided, living crickets and mealworms. Tried three different kind of CGD. Have not tried pollen though. Thanks

I guess he’s still a bit stressed out from moving. He was in my biggest tank, trying out a smaller one now, maybe he feels safer in a small, darker place.

Smaller tank might help, depending on size, try to have lots of hiding and climbing places.

Try popping a tiny bit of food on his nose, he should then luck it and hopefully once he has the taste for it, he might search for more :crossed_fingers:

I don’t feed my Cresties mealworms.

When you have one that doesn’t want to eat, you try anything

He’s got so many hiding places I’ve had to search for him each night to make sure he’s still alive. Sneaky little thing.

I figured you would’ve had several hiding places, but thought I’d mention it anyway.

Hopefully he will eat soon :crossed_fingers: some Cresties struggle to adjust.

Some people feed there geckos in specific places, maybe try food on the floor as well as too the side of the enclosure

Yes, I’ll try different places for food. You never know what will work. He seems more active in the smaller tank now at least. In the big one he was constantly hiding.

I actually feed my lot on the floor!
I always have done, no idea why just they seem to all get in well with it being there.

I’m happy to add here what I feed for everyone

So I use a lot of flavours myself, a lot!

This one, was a mix of the fig and insect Pangea, black panther melonistic, growth and breeding Pangea, egg white and some bee pollen!

I made enough for the next feed too, which I then added some honey too as well to make it slightly sweet for them all
(Just a small squeeze!)

I tend to mix flavours now as it seems to be making them a lot less fussy with certain ones I have found!
And with the ‘fussy’ ones, adding banana cream pie can help, it’s a ‘treat’ one :upside_down_face:

Pangea-
Fig and insect’s, papaya, watermelon, apricot.

Repashy- grubs and fruit, banana cream pie, cherry bomb, mrp classic, Mango, Pineapple Express and fig frenzy

Black panther- melonistic, colour bomb we’ve also used which is strawberry and banana.

And I now add in some egg white or whey, bee pollen and occasionally honey too for them, they seem to really enjoy the mixes I make, so, so far, so good!
Amount wise, I’m sure I will get asked, it’s a pain as I ‘eyeball’ it. But say a table spoon of egg white or whey and half a tea spoon of bee pollen.
I make enough to last a few feeds though, and for a lot of Cresties!

Meal worms are actually no good, Cresties can’t digest them properly so defo don’t use them :upside_down_face:

@lumpy unless you want to breed the beautiful things, start your crestie journey with a less expensive baby. ALL cresties are super cool!

All yourself… Do you have space for both, if not, what do you want more?

Well I am going to breed boas so I need a few growup females. And yes, I have to space and resources to care for them.
