Show Off Your Cresties 🤩

I looked in the tubes and I think I see eggs! They are about 14" in the tube and my 10" tongs aren’t close to reaching them. I was able to mark the top of the eggs by taping a marker to a bamboo. I think I’m going to try to get them out by taping a spoon to a bamboo stick and picking them out.

It’s harder when on camera

Good luck getting the eggs :scream:

I just got the eggs out! I don’t know if they’re alive or not but I’m going to have to get others out of the other tube later (there was no empty shell).

Good luck :crossed_fingers:

Yaaaaaaas! Okay MacGyver! I see you! :joy:

How many are in there?!

If no empty shell, I’d check any other places you can think of. The shell could also still be in there if you can’t get them all out. I also have 0 clue how to help get them all out, so I’m sorry. :joy:

I finally got them all out! There were 2 in the first tube and 4 in the second. 1 of them in the second tube looked really wrinkled but it didn’t look empty. I’m incubating all of them anyways, even though they all look really dry and are lightweight. There was an extremely tiny pocket between the foam (which the background was made of) and the branch that there could have been an egg in. There was absolutely no way that I would be able to get them out if they were in there and I wasn’t able to check. Hopefully some of these eggs hatch. I’m going to need to find a better way to close those tubes.
I will feel a little bit more confident in handling the frog butt baby since it wouldn’t be able to drop a tail. So, hopefully I can get used to handling babies with it.

This is why I love my frog butts. I don’t have to worry about tail drops. :joy: also they’re way cuter IMO.

Okay peeps. Got a rather silly question, but here I am.

What kind of container do you use on the scale? I’m having a hard time getting them to stay still to get an accurate weight. :woman_facepalming:t2:

I haven’t weighed any of my recent babies, but when I weigh geckos I just use whatever’s convenient. If I have the chance I’ll put it on and tare it first, but if not I’ll weigh the gecko and container, write it down, and then subtract the container weight later. I’ve used sandwich containers, food dishes, hides, etc.

I’ve been debating using the little 2 oz cups for the littles, but I feel like that’s too small. The bigs are easy cause they’re pretty chill. It’s just the babies that bounce around.

Those would probably work, the small size shouldn’t matter since they are only in it for a few minutes.

Haha I haven’t weighed my newbies yet but with other lil Cresties I have kept pots that insects arrived in as they are small.

Or I’ve used little pots that I use to have for the kids

I think it may have been a hit! I got these cute little honey packs, and they’re so much easier to help measure.

But on the topic of sweet things, April and May are so chill! They like to come out and just check things out, and then launch themselves back into the Keeper. It’s nice to see that they know where their safe space is!

May! I couldn’t catch it in the pictures, but May seems to have that orange around the crests when fired.

April! I love the single spot on their back.

Both are patternless with dal spots, but will likely turn into dals with the way the rest of them came out.

And last but not least, Kain himself was just looking adorable. He’s so photogenic. :joy:
