I will pair her to another gecko next year to see if anything changes. Maybe they just aren’t compatible ATM

Shouldn’t matter to much when.
I candle whenever, I use my phone torch!

I’m no good at candling. Or my phone torch sucks

You literally put the egg on top of the light and move around, should see any windows that way too, put your hand around if too bright

I put my phone face down and put the egg right on top of the torch. Even a regular torch, just put the egg on it. Much easier than to try and manipulate both.

…I’ve never used the word “torch” so many times. :joy:

Yeah my house is very bright. Torch just doesn’t work during day as not bright enough. Hopefully get a look tonight. I saw cheerio at beginning but again that was at night

Come on then, see anything? :upside_down_face:

Sorry was late last night when I finally got to do it.

So her more recent lays look infertile they are orange with no cheerio. Where as recent eggs from other Gecko are more red with cheerio.

The eggs that had the worms look to have not progressed much at all, little dark bit showing something is there but there was no movement despite me looking a while and is very small compared to what it should be for 2 & half months of incubating so I’m betting they are not alive :persevere: going to check for a few more days but I may have no choice but to dispose of them :sob:

So my next problem is why is my Gecko laying infertile eggs on a monthly basis and is it too late to pair her again, should I let her ride it out this year & pair her next year or even year after to give her a break?

I’d cut them open myself. See if there was a Crestie in there…

So with it being august it’s only a couple months left.
I personally wouldn’t be pairing anything now myself as it’s quite late in the season.
Usually to switch males or latest it’s June time to pair…

Yeah I wouldn’t normally pair this late, was just thinking if it’s okay to leave her as is. Her appetite and weight is great and she’s still a dream to hold.

Think I’ll just leave her for now and pair her to someone else next year!

On positive, Strawberry is looking good for breeding next year :crossed_fingers: she even eat her first insect this week (since I had her). I need to decide which Lilly White to pair her too

I’ll think about cutting the egg

My phantom Dalmatian girl. She’s my shy girl. I was excited to get these pictures of her.

Those babies are super cute. I also love the female, I think the spots make them look a lot better. Also, just to let you know, if those babies still have that shed on them after a day or two you should try to get it off so it doesn’t constrict them. If you need to get it off, this thread should help.

Thank you for the feedback. I removed the shed after a good spray down and with a moist q-tip right after that picture. 😊I love Dalmatians too. Add images here

Very cute, I’m sure I like all Cresties but I love pics, they look great.

I’m not a huge fan of spots but I really like spots on light Cresties as it really shows the spots like on your girl

@foxreptile SHE FINALLY ATE ONE?! Yay!

I was out of town this weekend, so hubs was running the zoo. My girl Hershey was sweet enough to welcome me home! Not the best pictures, but I think she’s got like 20 more spots in the last month.

The lighting and angles make her eyes look wonky. I took her back out after seeing the pictures to double check and she was fine. Just over here giving myself a coronary. :woman_facepalming:t2:

Geckos know goes to make you worry lol

Yep, Strawberry eat a Wax worm! So excited. Hopefully she will eat some more this week. She wouldn’t touch locusts or dubia roaches though
