Wow he really is giant! If it is a female, possibly her eggs will be bigger.

We’ve decided when all babies sexable, Emily will be allowed to choose a ‘pair’ for herself. Her own Cresties, she can have them in her room too. And any money from babies is hers to do with what she likes and to save. She’s mad on them and thought she would love this. Haven’t told her yet! She loves them all, So need to sex them before I tell her she can choose any girl and any boy!:hugs:

Wax worms :pensive: I decided to start my own colony of them a few months back and today I noticed they have chewed through the lid (tights) and have escaped past the water and roaming the house :scream:

I have spent the evening trying to find them :triumph: on a positive… I managed to find some bigger ones that I fed to Cookie

There are still lots on the outside of the tub but I can’t move them as they are too small, I can only see them if I look REALLY hard (or use the jewellers loop)

I’ve added a few more layers of tights to the top in hope they don’t escape tonight and may have to rethink the lid

Your brave… I totally understand she loves Cresties and get why she gets them as pets. But I’m not sure how my kids would take it if their beloved pet or offspring were injured or died (a little drastic, but still a possibility) Letalone getting them to let go of the baby cresties. I’m not sure I’m going to manage letting any go lol

Nooooo!
Oh gosh. Perks of having the outhouse converterted. Any escape they’re outside!

They’re so blooming tiny when born! These were all so small just getting them out the pots to feed was annoying

Well soon you may have moths everywhere… On the plus side they can’t really fly so you can catch them with ease… :flushed:

Well she’s been through the death of animals, and it’s upsetting but she understands that they either had something wrong or were old. She held Rhino the hamster the night before he passed, she knew he wouldn’t last so knew she had to give him lots of love, same with her other 2. She’s a good girl and growing up with it has helped her understand a lot. It’s not nice to deal with but she deals with it well. She chose to be vegan because she didn’t like eating and hurting animals.

Luckily these live a long time so she’ll have them for a while! Unlike hamsters who live a couple years if you’re lucky.

Yeah her giving up the babies is going to be fun to see, She is for sure going to want to keep them. :joy:

I just know it’s harder when it’s your own pet.

I still don’t have eggs :pensive: I’ve slightly upped the temperature at night and I’ve added a thin layer of substrate to see if she prefers the new stuff and gave her tummy a gentle massage (nicely to feel the eggs)

She’s definitely still got the eggs and she’s acting perfectly normal! Maybe she’s just holding onto her eggs a little longer than most.

Tease, why can’t she just be a normal gecko and lay for you. I’m crossing my fingers that she lays for you. :crossed_fingers:

Do you think eggs are full grown? If so a little ‘massage’ can help her pass them.
Though is she’s digging she should lay! Strange shes taking so long. Don’t get me wrong it’s never a month on the dot, I have Big Mama who starts digging a couple weeks before laying and then there’s Dolly and Akira who start digging a few days before.
All different but come on girl! Though diggings a good sign so see how she does over next few days

She didn’t dig last night, but she did dig a few weeks ago and again a few days ago.

She doesn’t like going on the soil which makes me wonder if that’s why she isn’t laying.

She also managed to hurt her nose in the soil (I assume on a plant root). I have taken the camera away incase that’s been distracting her.

The eggs look and feel big inside her, at least I think so but it’s my first so I suppose I can’t be sure.

As long as she is acting normal, I’m going to try to not worry :grimacing:

Maybe adding a lay box (or multiple) with different substrate options would help. Make sure you’re looking thoroughly in the soil since I missed many eggs that way (only to find them cleaning it and by then they were flooded for hours).

I’ve dug everywhere! I took the lay box away a free weeks ago as she kept digging under it and I was scared she might get stuck. But I think I might pop it back in
