You have a frogbut brindle with portholes. I am curious with this Gecko as to whether it’s a dwarf or just a REALLY slow grower  I have a Polydactyl Crestie too!

Sorry I haven’t been updating pics of my Geckos, I’ve been distracted

Funny enough I’ve been outside taking pics of some of my lot
My little twinnies, one fired and one not. Tangerines and supers, so in love

And then a big difference in siblings!

Went to take some of Tiny and my phone died! Dammit.

I love frog bums. freaks me out about the tail landing on you though! :grimacing:

Funny enough, all the littles fire up that dark, so it’s really cool to watch. None of the girls fire up as red as the littles and Kain.

The tail dropping really freaks me out, Letalone catching it :persevere:

I find that my girlies are more chill then the boys, so they tend not to fully fire like the boys (unless it’s super late) but they use to fully fire when they were younger.

Here’s a few pics of Vanilla, my chunky girl

I love her. she almost doesn’t seem real.

I would love a dark based crestie to put with the girls. Dhalia fires a dark olive almost. Kain fires dark red, but he tends to stay like an orangey. So none of the adults really change dramatically like the babies.

A lot of your cresties seem photogenic. Like almost everyone’s seems photogenic. Is this just like a super chill lizard?

Dark base will always be my favourite but I do love other colours also.

You definitely need a dark base male

I don’t know about other people’s Cresties but not all of mine are, most are though. I’ve had most of them since little and I’ve handled them regularly plus I know their personalities.

A couple of examples:

I have Cinnamon, he is easily spooked so I don’t tend to take many pictures of him, esp around my youngest. Although his fine around my eldest.

Gingerbread Latte use to be great with pictures, but she has been edgy since I attempted to cohab her, after seperating her again, she started hurting herself so I have limited handling her to reduce stress, her nose is on the mend now and she does love a cuddle, but I won’t cohab her, I might try again in a year or so though.

Then I have Milkyway, his so photogenic and great to handle, but if I was to put him on an open space on the floor, he will zoom off as fast as he can. His such a pain to weigh lol

Babies are harder to capture, because they are untamed and have too much energy  but still not impossible. Just a little extra patience sometimes

But I love taking pictures, I even do so of our ball pythons

Cresties are usually chilled out!
I have one who is a bit flighty but once out he calms down
It’s the babies you’ve got to watch out for :joy:

And finally after months, we are getting Starbuck in a couple weeks. Taken its time as courier has been a nightmare to sort :woman_facepalming:t2: Only just heard back…
But he’s got a long line of lineage, so worth the wait! And we will have another line of Tricolour

Here is another noob question: Are they difficult to take care of?

Mine are a bit of both. The hatchlings are jumpy, but tend to chill after a few minutes. Kain is super chill. The girls get flighty, but besides mad-eye,they tend to chill out fairly easily.

Mad eye likes to yeet herself anywhere and everywhere.

I find cresties fairly easy. As long as you keep humidity up, a little heat, possibly uvb, you’re golden. I’m not sure how others heat their cages, but we have heat mats in case it gets too cold, but they’re on the third floor, so the room is usually plenty warm. But I know heatmats aren’t usually the first choice, so hopefully someone else will chime in here.

Feeding is pre-made diet that you give like every other day.

I’m sorry if this is jumbled, I need more coffee. :joy:

I find them very easy to care for. Humidity is key so I sorry 2 times a day on average.
CGD food every other day and insects 2/3 times a week for most (some won’t eat them 🤷)

I have bio-active enclosures so cleaning is minimal. They are nocturnal. I love to hold mine but they are great to watch in the evening or first thing in the morning.

All this.

Mine don’t eat insects at the moment, but that’s because I won’t buy crickets. :upside_down_face:

I’m also working on getting the littles into bioactive as the adults already have bio Viv’s. So much easier!

Our geckos live in the bedroom for that reason. It’s so much fun at night to watch them.

Also, @spottedbull i just realized the name Dorito. Made my day. :joy:

Do we have care guides? Is that a thing? I know we have morphpedia, but care guides?

The easiest reptile I own!

There are some really good care guides out there but I don’t believe there is a guide on here.

Trouble is, there are so many different opinions and not enough facts to know the truelly best care for them that it’s hard to put into a care guide as not everyone will agree.

I agree, I chose a Crestie because of its ease, now I’m addicted
