Hopefully those Orange Cows come to the U.S. so I can see them
I would love some bloody cow lol
I’ll have to dig around in one of my crestie cages. I’m pretty sure I have orange cows in there.
My friend surprised me with these today!
Cubaris sp. “Blonde Ducky”
Armadilidium klugi “clown”
I’ll get better photos when they settle in. I’m beyond excited about the duckies my mom has been telling me to get some for a long time. They’re her favorite haha
Congrats! I also got a group of duckies, and they are amazing Especially the color mutations like Blonde Ducky and Pink Ducky. Anyone who says otherwise that they are underwhelming is colorblind
I am waiting on a big group of my klugii “Montenegro” to ship to me when it gets warmer. It is mighty chilly here in North UT but warming super quickly.
That is one very generous friend
After seeing the blonde duckies in person I like them just as much if not more than the rubber duckies. They are so gorgeous! But now I do need to get some normal rubber duckies haha
Yeah my friend works at a shop where she gets discounts on everything, she’s also the person who got me my pak chongs haha
Nice. I just have the normal duckies but they are by no means “normal”. They are still absolute stunners.
Wow I need to work there…
Oh I’m definitely not discounting how awesome rubber duckies are I just mean the “normal” variation haha
Me too!
Yep, I got you
Yep, I like discounts! In fact I prefer them!
I have some rubber duckies to, I see both normals and blonde duckies in the culture. The only problem is I’m either not seeing them enough or they aren’t breeding.
I have about 6 duckies but I’ve noticed it’s hard to find them, mine seem to be big into burrowing haha
Maybe yours are burrowing as well
Of course I only got mine last night so I don’t have a whole lot to go off of.
I have found that duckies are generally very into burrowing, but if you keep the humidity up they like to hang out above ground most of the time.
I bought 6 a very long time ago and put them in a 66 qt tub. I found most of them and moved them to a 16 qt but occasionally I still find one in the 66 qt.
@bughunter07 I’ve recently been keeping the humidity higher so maybe that will help. I also added a thick leaf litter layer so I might not see them. I can usually find a few if I pick the cork bark up but I don’t want to accidentally crush one so I avoid doing that.
Wow I honestly think that 16qt would be overkill. I have been keeping my 9ct in a little critter keeper and they are doing great.
Wow that’s massive haha
My friend gave me mine in one of those acrylic zilla enclosures, it’s the large terrestrial one. I’m not sure of exactly how many qts it is but I’d estimate less than 15 qts but maybe more than 10 qts. I may end up moving them to a 6 qt so they’re in closer proximity to one another.
It’s a nice enclosure unlike with the tubs you can see into it really well.
@bughunter07 I might dig them up and move them, but I don’t have any extra 6 qt tubs right now.
@madelines_morphs When was first researching them I read one source recommend a 66 qt, turns out that was for a huge colony. I was planning just to leave them but I figured it would be a lot better in close proximity and smaller enclosure.
OK. Long story short I had to clean out an enclosure and all the isopods…and I found this one when I was looking into what I kept for my “pet colony”. I know the isopods in the enclosure were dairy cows and powder orange. So I’m guessing this is a dairy cow with little to no spots.
Yes! They’re my fav I think when it comes to the different lines
When the cows and orange mix they get like an orange tinge to their backs.
But the thing is cows also can produce this themselves. So it’s a bit confusing
I can’t wait to see your red patternless ones, i’ll even love the ones that have the spots lol
