We gotta get you guys some Mos Eisly diorama pieces. Or a few little model camels. Or a few little model Fremen to walk the sands.

I saw some “models” but think i will have to create my own once i aquite more tools and ensure no toxic ingredients that could affect my scorpions. Another concern is to make sure the items are not too light nor too heavy.

Congratulations on joining the sand boa club! Mr. Moo (great name) is so freaking cute!!! I think you’ll enjoy having a sand boa, they’re really awesome little snakes. You’ll probably see him out and about more as he settles in and gets a little bigger.

Problem is, sand boas are constantly rearranging their enclosure decor with their burrowing activities. I have a little fake cactus and fake succulent in my girl’s enclosure, and I’ve pretty much given up trying to keep them upright. I’ll get them where I want them, and within hours they’re on their side in a different part of the enclosure. :person_facepalming:

Ya would have to hot glue them in place. My animals rearrange my enclosures too, how rude after all the time i took to make it special :joy: :woman_shrugging:. I think however snakes are so strong being all muscle that even gluing decorations to the tank bottom wont hold.

If he does some redecorating I won’t mind. Most of my animals do. I figure as long as they can’t hurt themselves on it and it makes them happy then rearrange to your hearts content. (Though it is a bit frustrating when my catfish and loaches in my 120gallon aquarium would dig up huge masses of aquatic plants and use them as a raft to lay in/float around in the current like a human on an inner-tube :rofl::rofl:)

And I’m already loving searching for his little nose and eyes poking above the sand in random places…. Even got him to take a frozen thawed hopper mouse yesterday. Though I’m definitely gonna let him get comfy before I start trying to take him out for regular interaction. He’s already moving his plants around and building sand dunes. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The Shai Hulud cannot be dictated to by mere mortals! The spice must flow! The Worm Will Burrow!

I love the little Star Wars idea. I actually brought that up, Dune up, and a zen garden up (all made of foam and pet safe) as ways to make his house more interesting. Would be funny as heck to see him laying across a spice harvester or poking his head out of a sarlacc pit :rofl::rofl:.

Husband and I were talking about “worm sign” as he was meandering under the surface (with the sand movement visible). Have to dress up some little plastic mice in robes and still-suits and photoshop them riding around on his back.. Lmaoooo. My nerd is showing

I know Star wars is wayyy cooler (imo) than Dune but he could be a sand worm. Or one of those worms from Tremors but they was ugly as all get up. I could practically smell them through the TV :joy:.

Its ok to be a “nerd” honestly i think we can have more fun, enjoying being silly or dressing up.

Once i settled on a great camera i plan on doing some photo shoots with my animals in various settings. I know i could do a Clash of the Titans scene with my scorpions. ( provided they dont run away too fast :joy: )

One of us. One of us. One of us.. The husband and I want to join the BCI/BCC band eventually too but we are in the process of reorganizing the whole reptile room and need to find more space.:rofl::rofl:. So something small was the answer at the moment. You’ll love one.

If i recall correctly you are also working with Saharan Sand Boas right? If so how is your group doing, i think im still a year or two out from trying to breed my 1.2. Its amazing how much slower growing they are than my KSB’s.

Yes I do have Saharans. 2 of them. My Female is still a few years off for breeding size. I have also noticed that they are much slower growing than my KSB’s.
